| technodemon10-27-04, 05:10 PM | Does anyone have any good suggestions or advice ccharacter concepts and ideas for a city based D&D game? I like to play your uncommon, creepy, weird and odd character types and I am stuck for ideas. |
| Draco Strang10-27-04, 08:01 PM | Can't go wrong with a rogue or a mage.....they're very urban. Clerics work, The urban ranger varient. Fighters can fit in as city-guards, and even barbarians work as "street thugs" or something like it. However, if you wanna get really weird, I'd suggest taking the rogue class and fleshing it out with a PrC, such as shadowdancer or assassin or something. There's a lot of opportunity for a rogue in the city. Do you want me to be more specific on something? This was just a general summary. |
| technodemon10-27-04, 08:07 PM | well everyone is multiclass in rogue already and the group I am joining needs arcane support. Im not in the mood to playing sneaky caharacters at the moment. |
| wamagni10-27-04, 09:11 PM | Make a bard! Be a rock star! Run around the city and have people love you! Plus you've got some okay arcane suppourt, and the cure spells. Tack on a whip, or even dualwield them. Play a weird instrument, or sing weird songs, or tell weird tales, and it shall be true fun. |
| Draco Strang10-27-04, 09:50 PM | Be a mage, pure and simple. Sorcerer or Wizard is up to you, but i would go with wizard, for the simple fact that given a little time and some friends, they have access to any spell. Sorcerers, yea can cast off of scrolls ,but their catalogue is a bit limited. If everyone is multiclassed, then wizard all the way. |
| technodemon10-27-04, 10:41 PM | what type of wizard? I do not like playing your straightfoward, typical or common characters (like I said earlier) and I thought an arcane wizard. But any good wierd, strange, creepy or odd wizards types for a city based game? |

But any good wierd, strange, creepy or odd wizards types for a city based game? A diviner who is, in fact, a voyeur? A necromancer who's really just trying to corner the market on meat preservation? A transmuter or conjurer who runs a contracting business? "One castle, one day! Next day service available! Why wait? Call now!" |

| technodemon10-28-04, 12:00 AM | With bard idea, not into playing musical characters at the moment. But thanks anyway. |
| Righetti10-28-04, 12:21 AM | enchanter, everyone will want you around. |
| Strife10-28-04, 06:19 PM | A transmuter or conjurer who runs a contracting business? "One castle, one day! Next day service available! Why wait? Call now!" Hehe, makes me want to play a dodgy mage in who's into realestate... :D |
