04-17-06, 08:14 PM I'd like to play a character named Aerandir. Aerandir is a Chaotic Good Human. I'd like to make him a Spellcaster (Divine or Arcane) who can wear Elven Chain Armor* and can wield a Katana**. I'd also like the character to have a Hit-Die of d8, d10 or d12. This means the character would have to have feats and capabilities similiar to a fighter. Aerandir would probably be playing either Forgotten Realms or Eberron campaign (depending on the number of RPGA events for either in my area).

My question:

Pretty much the Pick-A-Class game. The DM I used to play FR/Eb with recently moved, and I was mainly using his source books for reference. I've passed on from the Rogue class, as I'd much rather play the character described above. Problem is, the only books I've got are Player's Guide 3.5, DM Guide 3.5 and Monster Manual 3.5. Sorcerer and Cleric are choices, but I don't like a Sorcerer's hit die or a clerics devotion. Since this is a new character, the class would have to be accessible to a level one character. If the class you think is right for Aerandir is not in DM Guide or Player's Guide, please also give me suggestions for ability scores, since I'm using Standard Point-Buy. All constructive criticism and help is appreciated.

*Elven Chain Armor: pg. 220 (DM Guide 3.5)
Speed: 30 ft
Spell Failure: 20 % Max
Max Dex bonus: +4
Check Penalty: -2
Weight: 20 lbs.

**Katana: pg. 145 (DM Guide 3.5)
Dmg: 1d10
Critical: 19-20/x2
Weight: 6 lbs.
Damage Type: Slashing

04-18-06, 03:05 PM Try battle sorcerer from Unearthed Arcana. Dice is a d8, you get to use light armor and get to pick a martial weapon. You also get to use the slightly better BAB progression of a cleric. All you have to do is sacrifice one spell per spell level.

04-18-06, 05:19 PM your asking for us to build your character, so id go to "Character Optimization" forum and post your thread there.. ignoring that i would go for hexblade - but im not sute about the alignment and how the class works (but your chars description reminded me of it)
