Im currently playing a ranger/cleric of Lathander. Also would my cleric have to use a mace of some sort because it is Lathander's favorite weapon? Because I wanted to use a bastard sword. |

I'm assuming Ranger was your first class (meaning you multiclassed into cleric,) and a great story for this could be a ranger who found religion. He used to be "slightly less reputable" (perhaps even downright more evil) than he is now, turned his life around with the aid of a cleric of Lathander, and decided to dedicate his life to saving other poor souls from the fate that was awaiting him (the degree of zealousness you pursue this goal could depending on your own alignment.) |

The setting and backround of the game takes care of all those 'Alter Dusters' that stay behind and tend to the temples and great monuments of their deity. You could come up with a billion reasons to go out and adventure. Among them could be... -You wish to spread the word of Lathander -You seek to destory a fabled enemy of Lathander and your Church -You have received a dream or vision giving you a purpose through a quest -Your elders told you to go do something for them -You seek atonement for a past sin and the only way to redeem yourself is to accomplish ________. etc... You decide your own fate and the desires of your character. As for being a ranger, dorkknight23 had a good reply. It would be much easier to wield a bastard-sword if your character started out a non-devout cleric of Lathander. Its easy to explain... My question for you is... why did you decide to play a cleric? ~Tzu-Theory |
