| Dei01-25-07, 06:38 PM | I've had the idea to play a really devoted Cleric of Pelor and to give him some personality I was going to have him make readings from "The Book of Pelor" to cast his spells and make his turning attempts. I've got a few excerpts that I've made up on my own but I was wondering if there was anyone out there with better ones or comments and opinions on this kind of thing. By the way, the voicing of these will be in a very prophetic/ Judge type voice as he's a battle cleric through and through, devoted to hunting evil. Bless: "And though darkness pressed sore around them Pelor's might filled them and gave them the courage to stand against it and cleave through their ranks to the dark heart of that army. Chapter 18, Verses 11 and 12" Healing Spells: "And Pelor in His mercy spared them and gifted them life against the most grievous of wounds. Chapter 11, Verse 37" "Though the demon rent and tore at his flesh he called upon Pelor and was healed, the demon's power availing him nought against the purity of light. Chapter 13, Verse 24" "Alone they held the army at bay for Pelor willed it so and time and again His power flowed through them to steady their feet and strengthen their arms in battle. Chapter 13, Verse 18" Protection From Evil: "Just as darkness seemed to close in Pelor's light shone from within their pure hearts to create a barrier against the darkness. Their dark powers helpless in the face of His purity. Chapter 4, Verse 8" Restoration: "And He said, let your touch bathe the pure of heart in my power, that they may be cleansed of evil and malady and live in peace. Chapter 11, Verse 35" Spiritual Weapon: "My power will be a shield and a sword unto you, protecting thee from the evil that wouldst creep and surround, exposing their plans and laying to waste their machinations. Chapter 17, Verse 4" Daylight: "In blackest day, in darkest night, let no evil escape your sight. Let those who worship Evil's might, beware my power, Pelors Light! Chapter 17, Vese 16" (Yes I know it's a green lantern reference, but it fits :P) Prayer: "Call upon me in your time of need and I shall pour out onto the pure my blessings and smite the evil with a curse so that they weep with the knowledge of their weakness. Chapter 16, Verse 10" Zone of truth: "Beware the silver tongue, for it may hide a dagger. Countenance not the lier, the cheat but instead let your voice ring true in all that you do. Chapter 2, Verse 26" There's a few examples, I'm hoping to come up with three or four for every spell that he will use commonly and I was just wondering what people's opinions were or if anyone had any good additions to the list? |

And Lo did they speak the name of Palor and whenever they struck the heathens. And the impure cringed and exposed themselves before his name. Healing spells: And Palor rose and shed his light across the battlefield and the where his light shown uppong the flesh of his flock it was made whole and pure. Protection from evil: The Profit of Palor did draw a line in the earth and spoke to the deamon, "This is the bulkward of Palor and you shall not pass." Restoration: Exausted, bloodied and quavering the soldier crawled past the priests offering their prayers of healing and succor to kneel before the alter of Palor himself. And as he kneeled there he was suffused with new energy and vitality as a voice that wispered in his soul said, "Go and tend your and your allies wounds with renewed life." Spirtual Weapon: As the defenders of the light fell to horde of undead. Thier spirits lingered not as thralls to thier slayers but as holy spirits who took up their old weapons and rejoined the fight against the horde. Where their weapons before me only air they now found purchase on even the least tangible of Palors foes. Daylight: The faithful lit their last candle and it flared to life with the true light of Palor and it was as if day broke and the candle burned with this light until dawn replaced it with the true raidance of Palors face. Prayer: Go forth with not just your weapons of wood and steal but also with the word of Palor. For those who go with Palors word find they always have an ally aiding them. Zone of Truth: The sinner stood before Palor to defend himself to the supream divine and tried to speak but could force no lie or excuse from between his lips in the true presence of the Lord. If you put up a list of other spells you plan on commonly using I'll give them a shot too. This is kinda fun :D |
