I just made a drow female cleric of elestree and i wanna make sure i play her right but i've been having problem. She went through Teir Bresh (drow cleric academy) and was a worshipper of Lolth but she converted because of her want to go to the surface and do good. Other than that i have very little of anything else. Lemmi know what you guys think i should do, Drow are kinda new to me.

First, you should probably have the name right -- it's Eilistraee (pronounced eil-iss-TRAY-yee).

Second... well, why does she want to head to the surface? Even more, why does she now what to "do good?" There are lots of potentially good reasons for both but, from my perspective, she won't be a very satisfying character until you find answers.

Some possibilities that occur to me are:

1. Maybe she had the chance to watch "true heroes" in action and found them inspiring. Perhaps they even spared her her life when it was clear to her that, where the roles reversed, she and her companions wouldn't have done the same.

2. Maybe she started doing "good deeds" almost accidentally -- maybe to spite a rival or to be unpredictable. Somehow, in the doing of them, something else "took."

3. Perhaps while heading into a deep meditation on Lolth, Eilistraee (or one of her spoke-beings) broke in (perhaps seeing an unusual spark of something in her soul) and reinspired her faith.

4. Getting back to the "true heroes", maybe one of the things calling her to the surface is that, having "seen the light", she wants to find them and thank them.

5. Much like #4 but with a bit more grit, perhaps there were deaths involved for the "heroes" (some or all) and now she's on a quest to return some item or items to the family and/or friends of the dearly departed.

6. Yet another path that might inspire both a change of heart and a desire for a change in location would be something that brought her face face with something Grandly Eeeeevil -- a beholder, mind flayer, senior drow, etc. There's a lot in the underdark to choose from. Perhaps more than anything she's ready to get, if not into the Light of Day, then at least into afternoon shadows on a cloudy day -- both literally and in terms of alignment -- for the time being perhaps it's enough for her to leave her Evil Ways and simply become Neutral. Then, if she's starting to make a name for herself, it's easy to see a number of ways she and Eilistraee might find each other.

7. Finally, maybe she was somehow rejected from her society, potentially not leaving her much of a choice. Maybe they intended to slay her, a sacrifice to Lolth perhaps, and somehow or other she got away. Having any reasonable % of a drow community looking for you might well be enough to drive one to the surface and again, alignment changes could be more gradual, coming along as a few kindly (if suspicious) dwarves and others help her on her journey.

So there are some quick ideas. I hope some of them are helpful.

Having given it a little more thought, if it were me I'd spend some time working out the relationships she's had, even if she's leaving them -- family, friends, teachers, rivals, outright enemies, etc. Also, there's rather a lot about the drow and their communities that can be found with an internet search. It might be worth filling in your background a bit that way before going with these other steps.

Good luck!
