| KAVU200201-11-04, 09:33 PM | I am joining an unusual campaign. IRL the players are experienced gamers and great people. In the game, they are evil and bloodthirsty. They are thugs working for a mindflayer. They are about 12th, and I will start at tenth. The rules are 32 pt build, 3.5. The only books are PH, complete warrior, and miniatures book. I am considering playing a human cleric of hextor. I would appreciate any ideas you can offer. Perhaps we can kickstart the PC development process. |
| Lanoitakude01-12-04, 01:24 AM | Ahhh, Hextor. Well, a cleric of hextor would most likely be a "dominator" type, ya'know, rule the world etc (in Hextor's name, ofcourse). I don't really have any ideas for a backstory, but I think coming up with character quirks can really flesh out a character. Two delusions that your character might want to adopt: "Eating the hearts of your fallen enemies grants you their strength (roleplay this and use Death Knell as much as possible) "Eating the brains of your fallen enemies grants you their intellegence" If you want to be funny, try to convince the other PC's (or any NPC you come across) that you channel Positive energy. "It's okay, I will heal you with my mere touch *casts inflict spell*" ZZZAAAPPP "Now, doesn't that feel better?" Just some thoughts to try to get the juices flowing |

More likely he will answer he feel better! :smirk: For a LE character, I like the idea of a temple of a LE Deity gathering orphans for "the best of the community", and raising them in the hard way. You could have been some of those orphans, learning that the law of the strong is the best, and joining the Hextor clergy when older. |

"I don't kill sleeping elves, I wake them and then kill them." It is not unreasonable to play a LE character as a "good" guy. They often think that they are doing what is best for the world, and depending how lawful to how evil they are, they might actually have followers who believe them. Think religious zealot!!! |
| KAVU200201-12-04, 06:16 PM | For years I have played a cleric in another home campaign. That campaign is TOTALLY different. It is very high level, D20 material is allowed, and you must be good. I am a NG halfling cleric of Brandobaras (his name is Ian Applebottom). My pc is extremely cute and has a heart of gold. He provides comic relief, and an epic level paladin leads the group. I was invited to join this new group. I respect them as players so I decided to join. I am making a new cleric but he is completely different from Ian. I read each evil alignment and I like LE best. LE characters are not mass murderers. They are thoughtful, socialy well-adjusted, but completely ruthless. Perhaps I should model him on Alan Rickman. I think that he does a good job of portraying bad guys. |
