I've rolled up a character for a game that I plan to join (hopefully) within the week. I admit that I can't help but think of mechanical implications but I really like putting an emphasis on my character nonetheless. Most of my D&D expeiience is Dming and I have felt disappointed by the lack if roleplaying by the majority of my players; this game is with a new DM and I want to make a good impression. The 1st level halfling's name is Kaldair, he's 3'1" and weighs 32 pounds (slightly lean for a halfling) and has tan skin, blue eyes, and chin length black hair that is usually held up in a bright green do-rag.

My character's actual stats and abilities, as I feel I should mention, are as follows: halfling cleric of Olidimarra, Str 12, Dex 14, Con 10, Int 11, Wis 18, Cha 13. The conditions I was given for stats were one free 18 and 4d6 drop the lowest for the other five (an observant reader will notice that I did indeed roll 10, 11. 12. 13. and 14 as the five other stats; freaky). I have 4 ranks in each of Knowledge: Religion and Bluff (Trickery domain, as well as Chaos domain).

The general idea that I have is that this little guy wants to be "Dr Phil" but ends up sounding more like a used car salesman. I'm actually basing part of the personality off of my grandfather who owns a used car dealership and drinks a lot (after all, Olidimarra delights in wine, women, and song and he's got two of the three already-the first two, though ).

In combat, Kaldair is best suited to a support role, since his primary weapon is a longspear (+2 att, 1d6+1), while he has a light crossbow and a heavy mace as backup weapons. The rest of the party, as I've been informed, has another cleric, a monk, two rogues, a wizard, and I think a fighter. As a result, I've pretty much figured out how he has a support role in combat (be it spells or longspear/crossbow support, this runt hopes not to get in reach of anything nasty). To further act as a support character (as this is already a fairly capable party) Kaldair has the Scribe Scroll feat. I plan on multiclassing into rogue (the idea is "practice what you preach" and this guy definitely likes to preach).

This leads me to looking for advice. The basic concept for this character is that he openly makes his best attempt at legitimizing rogues as an acceptable profession. He will, at any opportunity, explain his "transitive property of property" and defend it against any point of view. Any conversation with an NPC (or some PCs, including the lawful monk) should include any possible reference and defense of this "law."

I'm looking for ideas to enhance this character. I have had almost no experience, even as a DM, with the Church of Olidimarra and am seeking suggestions on ways to improve this character. Please suggest at will.
