| Jikuu02-08-08, 10:11 AM | Hello everyone. I'm creating a character that is basically a Factotum without Opportunistic Piety and Arcane Dilettante, but has Bardic Music tacked on. It's a no-magic variant called a Minstrel. I'm molding her to be a typical dungeon delver of sorts (actually put more than one rank in those areas), but she's very charismatic. He hails from an aristocratic family that's been wiped out, and she's relocated after living as a street performer. I'm trying to conjure up ideas of what clothing she'd wear when she's on the go, where she has an equal chance of meeting people and using her skills at Open Lock, Tumble, and the like. What clothing looks good AND is useful? I'm thinking of pockets, loose clothing for tumbling easily, that sort of deal. To help give the flavor of the campaign, this character hails from a steampunk kind of society where crystals are equivalent to magic as coal is to fire. She'll be wielding a longsword as well as a pistol. Thanks a bunch! |

Big shirts with a lot of folds leave plenty of room for hidden weappons/tools. big hats can hide a face in a pinch or be swept aside grandly for attention gathering. Tighter fitting pants. High boots. Slightly loose belt. For your lower half mobility trumps form. You want to be able to move without tripping and the boots keep stones out and can hide another set of small tools or a blade. The belt should be loose enough you can easily remove it if it becomes entangled but is neccessary to hold any number of items, starting with your sword. Jewelery. Never wear just one ring. As an adventurer people will assume you've got a magic ring even if you don't. If you wear plenty of jewelry at least they have to guess what's magic and what's for display. |
