Collector [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-12-07, 11:47 PM Greetings. Watching the movie "The Ninth Gate" and running into a certain Fred character in Faerun has spiked my interest in playing a character that collects things. The best ideas I have so far are someone who collects books, magical and regular. However, they could also collect other magic items (maybe cards?) Things I have in mind are:

Races:
Human
Illumian
Some form of Elf

Classes:
Rogue
Beguiler
Archivist
Wizard

Prestige Classes:
Loredelver

Any suggestions are welcome, Thanks!

08-13-07, 12:07 AM I like the card idea you have? Maybe a diviner who collects different packs of tarot cards and is constantly shuffling a new deck to "break it in". You could shuffle cards at the table, which could annoy the other pkayer's characters. Maybe a warlock/rogue who plays sleight of hand tricks to take money from fools and is constantly making new more powerful effects. Maybe talk to you dm about you making magic cards.

I guess I'm looking more for build ideas, such as race, class lvs, and feats.

A Gambit card collector could be pretty cool.

08-15-07, 01:38 PM Build stuff is done on the character optimization board. Here at the development board we handle the RP aspects of the character. But it is a very interesting character concept.

As for class, most likely a rogue.
