ronthebunhead 05-18-04, 07:38 PM	I am working on a commner PC as a roleplaying challenge. Here is my backstory for her. Entara shamrack is the daughter of Rix Shanrack(Wr2,Cmn 4) and his wife Dixta(Cmn 2).He was a crossbow man in his countries Army and taught his daughter so she could defend the farm while she was away at market. Her farther borrowed money to buy more land. Everything went fine,the land produced a bumper crop until raiding orcs burned their crops.Her father had no way to pay the debt. Although the kind magistrate agreed to a one year grace period if her family paid and extra 30% there was no way they could get the money to pay the debt.They could notneven afford seed. Entara went to the nearest large town and agreed to sell her long red hair to a wig maker to buy a suit of leather armor,a new crossbow and some gear. She hopes to earn enough adventuring to pay the 400GP debt plus the 120 extra late fee. She plans to act as a sniper for her party and go on total defense when the fighting gets close.

ZARATHOS1972 05-19-04, 09:50 PM	I like it. Stick with the NPC classes and after a few levels once you get some combat under your belt, add a couple of levels of warrior. If you do well as a sniper it will help represent your growth in combat situations. Or you could go expert if you want to expand on your skills, which would also be good for adding depth to the character.
ronthebunhead 05-20-04, 10:16 PM	Well, i ran my first adventure with her and survived. it was a mini adventure with two other players. I am going to advance her to 7th level and retire her.I am not taking levels in any class but commoner.Entara is happy to be a support character. first it was 4th and then take levels in fighter,then 6th and take levels in expertNow I have decided.& and retire. My Dm's daughter plays a 2nd level (after our adventure last night)noble swordsman who looks down on her. She earned his grudging respect when she risked her own bootie to use the Aid another action to give him a plus 2 in Ac so he could avoid being reduced to below 0 HP when he was wounded and had been tripped by the whip and rapier weilding drow who was in charge of the Orc's we fought. she still thinks he is a foppish waste of flesh and he still things she is beneath him but they resect what each other can contribte to the team. On Memorial Day I will be playing my first adventure with her and the entire group of 5.
Aluroon 05-22-04, 06:47 PM	Well, it sounds like the rest of the group is playing non core characters, or atleast a few others in the group are so I'm not going to absess on the commoner aspect, although I will say she could have some problums at high levels with bab.
