| Mac Daddy09-28-05, 09:23 PM | For a complete lich storyline, it's brief. And I mean brief. As in, really brief. Please expand. |
| psudodevil10-02-05, 06:07 PM | That is not a story line, that is a sentance. It is also incredibly cliche. All liches attack towns and plot with underlings. Do something unique. I played a crazy lich Favored Soul. He was awsome. Flying around using inflict spells with his paralizing attacks. Your "storyline" has nothing in it. It could just as easily be the general info on the lich from the Monster Manual. You didn't even say what class it is, damn it! |
| Pagan Saint10-03-05, 05:03 PM | Wow! I love it! No, really, I do, except for one thing... It's not a story line. A storyline is: The 'line' of a story. Ei, what happens throughout a story. "The storyline was interesting and original" -Wikipedia.org Thus, saying that a lich can attack towns and plot with underlings is not a storyline. Has he/she attacked towns in the past? Is your lich likely to strike again, and where? What kind of underlings has it plotted with previously, if any? Will it plot again, and with whom. Use your creavity. Like psudodevil said (actually, it should be pseudodevil), it is rather cliche. Maybe your lich is fed up of murdering helpless villagers, and seeks to redeem himself. Maybe he's going for a bigger catch, and attempting to take over the kingdom. Either way, it's more interesting that a town-attacking, scheming lich. Try something different! |
| Harrow Blade10-04-05, 12:25 AM | Without trying to be part of an avalanche 'that's not a story' I will try to offer some constructive advice. "my lich can invade towns and set up plans easily with henchmen." is a statement of what you think your lich can do. by all accounts it is not very detailed. you may hve been better off by starting with: "I have a lich character who has minions and likes to invade towns with his minions and uses cunning plans to do so. Could you please help me come up with a convincing and interesting background story?" You would have then recieved much less disparaging replies that would not end up in a thread that gets you flamed. They would most likely ask you for more details such as stats, hobbies and interests, does he have a catch cry etc. They,as I have, will probly assume that being a lich and invading towns will make him evil but it would be advisable to let us know the alignment of your character as some liches are not evil and he may be invading towns of evil people to convert or destroy them. So then you read these replies and you start to think about how your lich behaves, does he torture his own familiar, does he have a penchant for suffing his decaying body with pot puri and other scented herbs in order to move among the living with out notice. You would also start to think about how he or she became a lich and what would drive a mage to give up living and continue on in undeath. There are a number of character background creation guides and how to advice on the boards and you just have to find them and you can then apply the method they use to helping flesh out your charcter. I'll save you soem time and point out that there is one in my signature. If you use it please leave a msg there on how it helped or if you think there should be something that needs changing. If youb take this approach not only will you end up with more plesant and constructive replies to your post but you will end up with a character that is fun to play and has a full and interesting character history. I hope this has helped you out. Harrow Blade |
