| Rillian_Orvenna03-26-07, 02:44 PM | My friends and I have started a new campain, starting at second level. I've made a Malus Darkblade type charictor from the warhammer books, I was wondering if anyone knew a cold one type monster from one of the Monster manuals and if you don't know one could you type out some stats for it? |
| fiendish_platypus03-26-07, 04:26 PM | A big stupid lizard. Shouldn't be too hard to find. |
| Rillian_Orvenna03-26-07, 05:34 PM | well not only that but it has to be a rather low encounter level, like 2 or 3 otherwise the DM might not let me get it. |
| CrimsonDeath03-26-07, 08:36 PM | Ice Mephit (Monster Manual) is CR 3. What do you plan for this monster to do? |
| Rillian_Orvenna03-27-07, 02:08 PM | A "cold" one is a large lizard that is used as war mounts for the dark elfs in the warhammer world. These notriously stupid beasts where first discovered under ground and where braught above ground to give the elfs an edge in combat. There jaws have enough power to bite a man in half or the head from a horse. They secrete an numbing toxic slime from their scaled bodys to slow down their pray. Cold one riders use this toxin on their bodys to smell like their mounts so that they are not mistaken for prey. The slime however has other uses, it has been used for years by the riders to kill pain of injurys, but due to the bacteria in it, riders have had their wounds infected and in some cases it has caused madness. A cold one, though fast is not faster than a hourse, it's preffured pray, a tactic commonly used is determination, a cold one can run longer than a horse can, given enough time. I was planning to use it as a mount the problem is how can I apply all these attributes but still have this monster at a relitivly low CR? |

| and03-28-07, 07:21 PM | dynonichus and mega raptor are in the MM and dark elf riding lizard is in FRCS |
| fiendish_platypus03-28-07, 07:51 PM | ...and dark elf riding lizard is in FRCS I think that's more what he wants, I couldn't stop laughing when I read Ice Mephit (or whatever). |
| CrimsonDeath03-28-07, 09:21 PM | I think that's more what he wants, I couldn't stop laughing when I read Ice Mephit (or whatever). Well, excuse me for being unfamiliar with the "Warhammer" setting. All I saw was "cold one type monster", which I thought was garbled-English for "monster with the cold subtype". |
