Morbian has ruled Mordeniasince it was scorched during the first Draconic War 6,000 plus years ago. It is said that Morbian keeps himself alive using evil life sucking magic, its whispered in the darkest places of Mordenia that he is already dead. Morbian established rule of the island after dragonkin covered the entirerty of every island in dragon flame, in an attempt to burn it off the map. The island that was once known for growing the most fragrent flowers on the continent suddenly became a field of blackend ash. The Island once called Azela never repaired itself, as if the God of Evil cursed the once beautiful land to be forever black. Terrible creatures began to crawl from the dark ash that covered the ground. These creatures hunted and killed the suviors. The Surviours banded toghter but where horribly out numbered. Thats when a local wizard opened the doors to his Keep to the surviers. The Wizard liked to work in solitude and not be botherd. Back when Azela was beautiful he ran a flower shop called Mordenia. When his business was burned down Morbian gathered what wealth he had left and retreated to his keep. Morbian Vowed to restore the island to its beauty.
Under Morbians direction, the 100 or so surviours of an island of about 8,000 formed a community island. Frist it composed of mostly just Morbians keep. Eventually with Morbains magic and the back work of the community, Morbain was able to expand the community under ground. He based the design on the ant hills that used to grow in his garden. The Community, which became known as Mordenia after Morbian's once worlds famous magic shop, was growing in size and population. Morbain took this time to establish a formal goverment composed of 6 speakers. The Six speakers where named and Morbain was unanimousley selected as govenor. The first role of this offical Mordenian Goverment was to deal with the over crowding issue, a new generation was being born and there wasn't enough room or supplies. As by a human speaker "We ethier need to dig deeper or go back to the surface where we belong." (The dwaven speaker couldn't agree more, as humans don't belong below ground with dwarfs). Morbain decided to fight this evil with something even darker, He proclaimed a new pantheon he called Ur. He began spouting that the gift of the gods belonged to the people. That the power of the gods belonged to them and he had learned to command the gods. Over the centuries Morbain's magic reclaimed a few large landholds.

I need Help with what levels Morbian need though... He was a magic user that loved flowers in life.. His homeland was destroyed and he vowed return it.. Thats gonna take longer than he would natrually live so he became a lich?

Any help?

Ack, the dreaded Wall O' Text(TM)! :gah: That is really hard to read, man, it's called punctuation and paragraphs.

Okay, trying to slog through this mess... Morbian was a living florist in a (town, kingdom, country? not sure) known for its lovely and rare flowers. For some unknown reason dragons destroyed the place utterly. Then the place was cursed for another unknown reason.

Morbian retreated underground with seedlings from his business and a vow to make the region grand again, but isn't doing well so far. He and the few survivors he managed to bring with him formed a subterranean community which began to flourish, bringing up their population numbers and forming a crude government, but they ran out of space.

For some reason (the inexplicable curse?), Morbian felt the need to commit crimes against the gods in exchange for power, and became an ur-priest from whatever it was before. He encouraged others to follow his example, and used his newfound evil powers to start making inroads back to the surface.

Before anyone tries to answer the class levels thing, is this breakdown accurate? And have I missed anything?

Hmmm... this guy seems to be kind of all over the place. First a mage, then a florist, then a power-thieving heretic.

I think his class progression might be something like:
- Wizard 3
- Human Paragon 3 (assuming he's human, otherwise Expert levels)
- Ur-Priest 2
- Mystic Theurge X (enough to hit caster level 11 for either Wizard or Ur-Priest)
- Lich Transformation
- Mystic Theurge X (rest of the nonepic levels)

Lots of ranks in Profession (florist) and Craft (floral arrangement) will be important, as will Knowledge (nature) for identifying plants. Living underground as long as he did he probably picked up quite a bit of Knowledge (dungeoneering).

Of course there will be the necessary Knowledge (religion) and Knowledge (arcana) to qualify for Mystic Theurge, as well as Knowledge (the planes), Bluff, and Spellcraft to get into Ur-Priest.

Necessary feats to make this work include Iron Will and Spell Focus (evil) for Ur-Priest, and Craft Wondrous Item for phylactery construction to do the lich transformation.

Good luck.

As for the non-crunch aspects, come back when you're not high and try to elaborate, please. This might be an interesting character concept but as presented, it's hard to tell.

Thanks man.
I Agree Mystic Theurge / Ur priest is a good combo.

The idea for the character is accually pretty simple not that i'm more able present what i'm looking for.

There once lived a florist named Morbian. Morbain grew some of the most exquist flowers in the land, and built up a nice change coffer doing it. He used magic to help grow the flowrs (morbains secert). Then the dragon covered the island he lived on in dragon fire. The Gods of evil cursed the souls of all the people that died in the dragon fire to wander the island. Morbain retreated back to his wizard keep and he aided the suviors tunnel under the ground to escape the spirits. (This was done via lost of stone to mud spells and runes keeping spirits out). Morbain became obsessed with restoring the land by dragon fire (which i guess is important to note the land never healed... If you've read the war of the lance think about about the silvenasti elves.) Thats being a massive project was gonna take longer than morbain would live... so he became a lich alittle under 6000 years ago.

Now Morbain experiments almost endlessly to restore the island to the beauty that it held before the dragon fire burned it. He has reclaimed parts of the forest and the plain lands, and ofcourse the tunnels that have been expanded to fit the needs of the dwarves who still live under the island.

Now it is important to note that Azel (the island that was burned by dragon fire) was burned because of its ledgendary beauty. The plains where once covered in the most beautiful wild flowers. And the Forest was full of cherry blossoms and plum trees.

I'm thinking that i want to drop the Ur part... it has no motive other than to just stick it in there somewhere. Morbian motivation is not evil but to restore the beauty of Azel.

ok now we have an interesting sounding character, a wizard who is more interested in nature than his studies...? thats something

So he became a lich (a good lich variant from LM im assuming, an evil one just wouldnt make any sort of sense) to ensure that he would be able to restore the islands natural beauty.

Now, ask yourself a couple of questions-

1)Why hasnt he been able to fix the damage for 6000 years? Thats a bloody long time hey, if he were adventuring he would be like epic epic level. Is he just a total dumbass or is the curse really that impossible to beat?

2)He and his followers have been underground for 6000 years, thats a long bloody time. Perhaps they should no longer be humans (if they ever were) and instead be Underfolk, a human variant from Races of Destiny (they seem to fit your story very well)

3)Is the curse actually going to be beatable? When you start playing, does your character stumble apon a great clue or some such thing that sends him on a chase (the 1st adventure) the spawns a whole lot of others?

4)Whyd he choose mage instead of druid? Has he created a whole lot of nature affecting spells since wizards usually dont have spells that affect plants.

I dunno... just ask yourself as many questions as possible.. flesh out your character.

Also, as champion as it is to create a character while stonned, its probably best to write it down, and post it when your level. Saves people the trouble of trying to decipher your writings.

Great idea though,

The Island Azel was once beauitful. After the dragon fire burned the island the gods of evil cursed it in an attempt to wipe the beauty away. Morbain has didicated his unlife to restoring the island but A) it God cursed B) its still inhabited by the souls of Azel's former citizens C) Outsiders seem to be attracted to the island, the long haird humans calling themselves Wuukeys have taken to the trees. there is a serious lack of resorces on the island and no navy, just a few fishing villages.

2)He and his followers have been underground for 6000 years, thats a long bloody time. Perhaps they should no longer be humans (if they ever were) and instead be Underfolk, a human variant from Races of Destiny (they seem to fit your story very well)
The orginal suviors wnt undergroundbut in in 6,000 years the population has grown forcing the expansion of the community back onto the surface. Areas they have reclaimed from the spirits and centers for resoration projects. The dwarf population remained under ground while the humanoids moved back to the surface,

3)Is the curse actually going to be beatable? When you start playing, does your character stumble apon a great clue or some such thing that sends him on a chase (the 1st adventure) the spawns a whole lot of others?
Morbain is obbsessed with restoring Azel and has slowly been able to restore about a thrid, so fesiably given enough time the island could be as beautiful as before. And BTW its not a character its an NPC and a new setting in my Homebrewed CS

4)Whyd he choose mage instead of druid? Has he created a whole lot of nature affecting spells since wizards usually dont have spells that affect plants.
i'm thinking some class combination of both.. Morbain was the operator of a world class flower company emporeres had thier courts flowered by morbains flowers. Empoerer Innocent the III's funeral arrangment was arranged by Morbain.
