| Ensjak06-18-07, 10:22 PM | Hey everybody. So I've finally settled on a character for a Dark Sun campaign I'll be playing in this Thursday. The basic character concept is a depressed halfing cleric of rain. Ability scores will most likely be 6str 10dex 10con 14int 19wis 14cha (not actually sure if I'm allowed to have a 19 wis with pt buy, so if not, he'll have 14 con) Due to the setting he's most likely going to be a slave. Unlike most halflings of the setting, my character won't have starved himself to death once captured. He'll have tried but not had the will to go through with it. This results in his weakend condition...i.e. horribly weak physical ability scores. He'll be horribly depressed most of the time, but disgustingly happy go lucky whenever it's gloomy and raining. To him, storms are better than the tender, cannibalized meat of non-halflings (As you can probably tell, Dark Sun is very different from your Forgotten Realms, Greyhawk, and Eberron settings). Anyway, besides being depressed when it's not raining, I don't really know how an enslaved, cannablistic, xenophobic halfling cleric of rain with the Fury of Storms and Refreshing Storms domain might act. I'm looking for ideas on how to roleplay this character. I'm also looking for goals he could have besides trying to get back to halfling lands. I feel like trying to return home wouldn't help gameplay so maybe he's too disgraced to return home to his people. So why is he serving his master faithfully? For anyone unfamiliar with Dark Sun you can check out www.athas.org and download the 3.5 conversion .pdf for free. Thanks in advance for your help. |

You can just wander off on your own when nobody is looking. You have to fight without giving others active roles in your tactics, also if you have a proverbial "magic bullet", feel free to not to mention it out loud before actually using it. Have a bunch of weird taboos. Freak out when they are compromised even by a bystander in the vicinity Generally speaking, act like you are just tagging along for the hell of it, and be as annoying as possible. A athasian halfling is just a pain in the *ss, so feel free to do anything that you wouldn't do with a mul as long as you don't forget to add a rationalizing detail in his bio. :D:D:D edit: I feel like mentioning that you shouldn't do all this randomly try to figure out some twisted logic. |
