Please be more specific as to what you want if you expect a useful answer. An interesting option suggested to me is Crusader from Tome of Battle, Book of Nine Swords. Not having that book, I can't comment, however the maneuvers in there may match some of his abilities. Death Coil can be any Inflict Wounds spells enhanced with the 'Ray Spell' Feat or Heirophant ability. Generally Blackguard matches the concept, although not the actual abilities. Most of the powers can be done by a Dread Necromancer, although they lack the needed combat prowess. Death's Chosen from Libris Mortis can cover part of it, but not all. Feats from Libris Mortis would work well, although the issue is having enough feat choices to spare. - Necromantic Aura & Necromantic Might (check name) gives bonuses to nearby undead allies. - Profane Lifeleech and Profane Rejuvination (again, check names) can drain life from the living and restore injured undead. - Tomb-Tainted Soul/Fortitude/Vigour and such can help simulate the partial transition into undeath. One really interesting take would be a Dread Necromancer (Heroes of Horror) who uses the one martial proficiency from the class to qualify for gish prestige classes such as Abjurant Champion (Complete Mage) and Eldritch Knight (DMG). Probably with a handful of levels in Blackguard for the armour proficiency as much as anything else (along with Battle Caster and mithril armour). The best bet for one that works is a Fighter/Blackguard with feats from Libris Mortis. Combines combat effectiveness with powers from Rebuke Undead. Overall, my judgement is that the best thing to go for is the concept and look for cool necromantic powers of your own rather than try to copy a character from another game system. As demonstrated, the systems do not mesh well. |
