| Grizzled Gryphon01-08-06, 10:45 AM | Is insane. Well, sort of. He is a gestalt character, fighter/ psychic warrior, that is a dwarf, but he doesn't believe he has psychic powers. For example, he will use body adjustment on himself after fighting, but can never heal all of the damage. As he is a dwarf, he is much tougher than others, and that is why those blows from the enemy looked worse than they really are. Body Adjustment is used to show that dwarves are hardier than other folk, and that is why poisons and the like don't affect him as long. I took pains to make sure his powers weren't the flashy type. I am playing this off like he origonally knew he had powers, but he didn't tell anyone, as he was afraid of being shunned for being different. He was so adamant about it, that he even began believing it to be true. The two examples above are the types of 'rational' explanations he has for anyone noticing the use of his powers. Thanks to the psychosis, he honestly believes it to be true. My problem is, he is about to become 11th level, and the powers are getting more and more flamboyant. In other words, he won't be able to explain them away for much longer, and what happens when he has to face the truth? He is about as dwarflike as a dwarf can be. He loves crafting weapons and armor, and uses the heaviest armor and shield he can make. I should have tacked on the Paragon dwarf class on the fighter side, just to show this. So, when he has to take a power that isn't concealable like the ones I have taken, what should I do? I was thinking of a breakdown, of sorts. Deep down, he knows he is psychic, and he will be forced to face this fact. Any help would be appreciated. |
