Are you curious about choices made during the development of your favorite game feature?

Are you interested in knowing specific information about a games evolution?

Do you have questions burning deep in your cranium that can only be answered by the game developer themselves?

We want to know!

In an ongoing effort to strengthen the dialogue between developers and gamers we need your questions! Please post any questions you have for our developers here. Your input will not only help to form the content for the upcoming alpha launch of our Gleemax site, it will be yet another step in reducing the divide between gamer and developer.

Thank you in advance!

I've always been fairly curious about the development process of campaign settings and their histories - there's a tremendous amount of information there, and I'd like to know what sort of process developers undero when designing a world's history.

It's also my understanding that these worlds are heavily playtested by people running campaigns through them as part of the development process. I'd really like to hear about how the results of, say, one particular session made the developers change their mind about a specific world idea, class feature or item.

How do you go about chosing a settings iconic characters, such as Drizzt, Elminster and Fzoul?

What do you look for?

Are these general questions about how the game is developed or can we ask specific things about the content of D&D?

If its the former: Will 4e be compatible with 3.5 on a similar level as 3e is compatible with 3.5?

In case of the latter: I'm noticing that in the later publications the mechanics have been leaning more towards "abilities per encounter" rather then "abilities per day".
How could the Vancian casters be converted into a system like that?

Why isn't there a greater divide between Player books and DM books?

There is an awful lot of info in campaign setting books that a player's character simply isn't going to know making them more DM books yet they contain a lot of things like prestige classes, geography, local customs, etc. that player would need. I mean even the first set of prestige classes are in the DMG not the PHB.

Shouldn't there be more that a DM knows and the players learn while adventuring given that their character can't know this info?
