for a good aligned cleric? Such as, he was bad once, but does good now. Or is it too cliche?

You're playing Dungeons & Dragons. If it isn't cliche, chances are it's not worth it :P

If it cliche, chances are it's roleplaying gold :D

I once had a npc priest of Pelor who was a cleric1/ rogue6/ assassian4.

Yeah... he had somewhat of a dark past, but he was converted by a priest of pelor.

The orcs trying to invade his temple got a nasty shock :P

Peace

Ps: Clique = Great

My favourite all time was the Forgotten Man, who fit that concept.

Not that original, but beautifully done.

That depends. As one phrase ("character with amnesia that appears naïve but has a dark past"), yes, it looks too clichéd and underdeveloped, but if you take it somewhere else, and make this character into a unique individual, through relationships, ideas, etc, then it could be very interesting.

Personally, my favorite amnesiac with a dark past is the Nameless One (the PC), from Planescape: Torment.
