Hello, I’m new to this forum, my name is Matt, I’m 18 and live in Annapolis Maryland. Well I have a question. In a resent RP event…one of my charters (A human sorcerer with dragon lineage) is going to be the father of a child. Now, one thing that I and the guy that plays my charters lover were wondering was how exactly does dragon lineage affect a child? Would they grow any faster because of this? Would they have any physical differences they say a normal human? What characteristics would they have? These details I have overlooked because I made this charter in his late 20s, so I’m unsure how his kid would be…If you could answer this for me that would be awesome. Thanks a lot!

I think there's no aging difference between half-dragons and their base creatures. Also it's uncertain if the dragon blood manifests in a half-dragon's child (but it could manifest even generations later).

The child would have the draconic template. It's found in the Draconomicon under monsters.

If one of the parents were a half dragon, then yesm the child would most likely adopt the Draconic template from Dracinomicon; however, if one of the parents just happens to have a tid bit of dragon blood, I would treat him as any other member of his race, or maybe a half-elf in terms of aging.

'Tis just my opinion.

There are a few things to do.
1. Slightly enlongated canine teeth and fingernails that tend to require constant trimming.
2. Eye color of the base dragon.
3. Guaranted to grow up to be a sorcerer.
4. Tends to have one or more personality traits of base dragons.
5. Tends to find dragons/reptiles beutiful and majestic.
6. Love of jewlery and gold.
7. Large appetite, despite which doesn't get fat
8. Tends to enjoy the dragons environment.

Dreams about flying. Enjoys mountain surroundings or any other place 'high up'. Could be greedy at a young age. I also wouldn't immagine it maturing faster, rather I would immagine it maturing slower :) Seeing as how Dragons would most likely pass on some of their longevity.

Not everyone with a hint of Dragon blood in their veins grows scales, wings or fangs. I always immagine them as being somewhat more hot-tempered if the ancestor was a Red Dragon, calculating when their ancestor was Green, 'of higher moral standards' if their ancestor was Gold, etc. Oh, don't forget stupid people have a common ancestor too! The white dragon :D
