Hey, I need aid to make me a nice background story for my dark spellcaster. Campaign world is FantasyFlightGames´s Dragonstar so it´s Scifi-Fantasy campaign. All characters are Evil as is mine, LE. Few things to note in the setting: Dragons rule and Half-Dragons form the aristocracy. Sorcerers are considered dragonblooded so they gain little prestige although won´t belong to absolute nobility, lesser nobility at the most unless their half-dragons. Deeds can raise social status if great enough. Evil characters are tolerated but breaking the law still has penalties in general.

My Character is going to be like this: Paladin of Tyranny2/Battle Sorcerer8/Ur-Priest2/Mystic Theurge8 Str10, Dex12, Con14, Int11, Wis16, Cha16, Race: Human

I started to play at 4th level so it was Pal2/Sor2 level character and he was in a truck containing some sort of cargo in a "Tantooine like planet" with no official rules where all goes as the strongest states.

I was thinking something like he being former paladin who one day noticed his talents laid elsewhere. He became sorcerer with the talents of paladin os he charges forth with his gun killing all who oppose him. He found a strange fellow on some mission who said he could teach him to steal the power of gods. He was tempted by this and now increases his might so he can one day be able to do so. Also he delves deeply in all arcane and divine secrets even if their considered unnatural, forbidden or dangerous. Obsessed with power?

Your suggestions? Remember the scifi-fantasy setting and if not familiar with the setting go to http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/dsgalaxy.html

Okay, here's the characters story so far.

He lived his childhood in a remote planet in Outlands. He's people are dark humans living underground as the surface of the planet is too cold to survive. They have developed darkvision so the manage well below the surface. He had brother and parents but family ties are quite loose in their society. This all changed as the legions arrived, at first they send a small recoinnance team as the planet showed great promise of precious minerals. The team was attacked by darklings who were quite good at everything they set their minds into.
After the news of the attack reached the ear of that sectors commanding officer, she commanded full force of legions to take down any who resisted the advancement of the empire.

After the battle the planet was conquered and part of the Empire. Heavy mining facilities where put to the planet to mine adamantine. Jozram was drawted to legions and served few fights but got caught and was taken as POW in some jungle planet by cannibalistic elves. Those hideous times he witnessed there made him question the might of gods. He swore he would never trust any of them again. After months of poor conditions and stress in the jungle the Jozram developed new abilities. He noticed he had the gift of magic within his blood as so many other of his kind. He used his new found powers to escape and fled from the cannibals. He came soon across a search party and was transported to imperial planet where he was questioned about failing a mission. After brief demonstration of his spellcasting, he was taken to see other sorcerer´s who took Jozram under their watchfull eye to learn to channel his powers properly.

On a delivery mission on remote planet in a bad part of the universe he came across a strange fellow who said he could steal the powers of the gods themselves and channel it forth. He promised to teach Jozram in return of some favors. Jozram continued his mission in the planet and joined the truck caravan to deliver his cargo to nearby city. The caravan was attacked by the local Crimelord, Cyberneticaly enhanced man with his gang. Jozram has knocked uncouncious at the beginning of the attack and when he came to his senses, the battle was over and the cargo taken. Jozram waited to the Crime Lord to leave and then exited the already burning truck and assested the situation quickly. He gathered the sole survivor to a small car and loaded it with all that he could salvage from the bloody site. He starts the car and starts to drive -> Campaign continues from here.

One of the other characters was captured by the Crime lord which Jozram saw while he was in the truck, other PCs fled the scene as the crime lord was too powerful for them to handle.

Character: Human Paragon2/Fighter1/Battle Sorcerer1
Race: Night adapted Human
Any ideas about the story?

In which parts of the empire does the adventure play? Imo, as you describe a rather "Wild West" setting probably one of the weak chaotic domains (white or black).
Why did the crimelord leave survivors? When the legion invades planets because of a single attack, a crimelord will make sure he can't be identified/tracked when attacking the legion. You seem to forget that according to your story you are still in the legion. That makes it much harder for you to move around in more civilized areas of the empire because you will either be labeled as traitor or MIA, both which will rise suspicion when you are discovered.

Also, you Ur-Pries levels will probably get you into deep trouble. The curch has a very stong position in the empire.

When I read your story I get the image that your character will end up as tools which is manipulated by the rebels, various crime organisation and sects to do their dirty work.

These happenings are quite loosely in Dragonstar but good pointers on the domains.

Good question. My character joined the game in the middle of the adventure. 3 other PCs where ambushing the crime lord (thought to lure him out with the caravan). They had quest to catch him dead or alive. My other character was dead at this moment (a druid who tried to befriend a T-Rex with bad results). They noticed that this caravan was on remote route and figured it would be great target so they joined it. After a while it was ambushed by the crime lord and his gang and one of the PCs got nearly killed (rolled natural 20 on save vs. DC 60). After this the other PCs fled the scene and the crime lord captured the nearly dead character. My character was in the truck at the moment just gaining consciousness. So, it´s pretty much up to DM to figure why the guy saved the PCs life.

You seem to forget that according to your story you are still in the legion. That makes it much harder for you to move around in more civilized areas of the empire because you will either be labeled as traitor or MIA, both which will rise suspicion when you are discovered.

I figured that I belong to the lesser nobility for my new found sorcerer powers. No real social power but still something. I figured that I belonged now to new branch of the legions where I can work more loosely but still follow the commands of my superiors (those could be other Sorcerers).

Also, you Ur-Pries levels will probably get you into deep trouble. The church has a very stong position in the empire.

I know this, with great power comes great respos... respect. Why would I tell where I got my powers to the church? I just hope they never figure out the source or TPK is quite near :)

When I read your story I get the image that your character will end up as tools which is manipulated by the rebels, various crime organisation and sects to do their dirty work.

That´s why I try to find certain allies (the other PCs) and trying to figure out a back-up plans for the future.

Nice pointers all the way. Is the story belivable? Does it work? Any improvements?

Imo you are overextending the sorcerer = nobility aspect. You are not even a full sorcerer, the respect you would get from beeing one is rather little. If you took one or two draconic feats then yes, but with only one level (so far) I don't think someone will be impressed.

Considering the tone of your character, you should imo find a other organisation to join than the legion. Maybe this interstellar crime syndicate? (Can't remember the name)
