| Cirah08-21-05, 10:06 PM | I've recently started up a new campaign and I'm playing a Gestalt druid/barbarian neanderthal. Using mostly Frostburn as a start, I've pretty much fleshed out the character in terms of advancement and background. Instead of the normal hulking, intellectually challenged moron from some prehistoric tribe lost to time, I'm playing her as a primative tribe shamen near a glacial tiaga in a homebrew campaign. The tribe of neanderthals are very similar to their human cousins, but living in the mountains far removed from civilization causes them to revert to an almost prehuman state the longer they live. As a young shamen from this tribe, my character has left in order to try to stave off the revertion and to control her rage *my character is deathly afraid of her rage, but has a hair trigger temper, usually flying to a rage after about 5 or 6 rounds of intense combat or when her hp drops lower than 1/2 or 1/4* I'm planning on taking her through the primeval prestige class *showing a further decline into a prehuman existance than normal members of her tribe. With an affinity for animals and a knack for healing *showing her shamen role* I was thinking of trying to maybe incorperating summoning feats. Then again, since she loses her humanity the more she progresses, I'm wondering if maybe I should focus more on her rage. No matter how hard she tries to controll her rage, eventually she gives in and let's it consume her. Or maybe, since she comes from an arctic tribe, maybe focusing on her snow and storm spells and her ability to survive in such a climate. My ability scores are: str 17 dex 11 con 17 int 12 wis 18 cha 12 +2 racial modifiers in str and con and -2 in dex and int. I put the highest roll in wis for spell casting and to make it so that she uses her will to resist her rage. Primeval gives a - bonus to int and cha and a + bonus to str, dex and con. So even after reverting, she can still cast all her spells So I'm just wondering on what feats I should focus on with this character. I'm not sure just how to play out her personality through the feats chosen, even though I have background and advancement settled on. thanks for any and all help *oh, and just because most of my ideas so far have come from frostburn, I have access to a large library of books and can use just about all of them. so if something fits and is from another book, that's fine* |

If you want more ideas, check in Crystal Keep (link in my sig), I think the feats from all the Complete books are there. |

If i was in a winter waste land and had the oportunity to learn a fire or cold spell...i know that i would take the fire one first, hands down. I think the wild feats would be a good idea, just give them a permenant physical effect aswell (no game effect, just story) If he takes some feat that allows him to grow claws or sharp teeth, maybe his nails/teeth become thicker, yellow and hard (still no game effect). Perhaps he starts raging at the worst of times... somebody might play a prank on him and he turns into his hybrid form and rages against them. He is becomming more and more bestial, relying on his animal like instincts. Later |
