im planning to play a Dwarven Drunken master but I cant really figure how I can play him. I mean how can I be lawful with Monk-like disipline yet abuse myself with mass consumptions of alcohol and inebriated rages.

the build is Monk1/fighter4/DM 7 (3.0). I plan to make his flurries all punches and head butts. I dont want to play him like an obnoxious insulting drunk. I was thinking of a reason for why I could have abandoned the Monk path and started the way toward the Drunk master.

Perhaps he doesnt like to drink at all buts its the only way
he can "flow" in combat

after all in theory the drunken style is supposed to be like

* you can strike from odd angles often catching the oponent by surprise

* you move in unpredictable ways that make it harder to hit you

as for abandoning the monk path you never really liked the drunken master style but recognized its efectiveness once you learned all that you could stand you left for the martial life

good call.

The Dwarf hails from a particular clan with one hell of a battle lust (Clan name: Blood dancer).

It will be great trying to play him when he is sober. trying to look for things to drink while getting the crap kicked out of me. Id drink anything from Lamp oil to diluted venom to get drunk.

The fighter levels reflected his life before taking on the Monk level. I will write in that he will discover his latent power by consuming mass amounts of "The Drink".

I just have to keep making those rolls not to throw up.
