I am using a 28 point buy to create an elf.I am going to leave his intelligence score alone.I want to play a dumb elf.I am thinking of playing her as an outcast from elven society. She left becuase she got tired of the other elves condescending attitude toward her. Not only was she none too bright but she was a lot stockier and muscular than the elven idea of beauty. She was taken in by a barbarian tribe who could care less that she was done too bright just that she could pull her load defending the tribe from neighboring orc, goblin and kobold tribes.

Any suggestions as of quirks or any stuff like that which would help me roleplay a dumb, really strong female elf would incur my thanks.

I think, given her background, she should be suspicious, if not hostile, towards anyone "civilized" until they've proven that they're friendly. Once someone's earned her trust, they have a friend for life, regardless of race, gender, whatever; but she's a holy terror in battle, and flys off the handle anytime she thinks she's being mocked.

There's my $0.02. Of course, I'm assuming she's Chaotic Good, and if that's not the case, some ideas may not apply. All in all, sounds like a fun concept to play!

she is CG. Also, she uses a battle ax as her main weapon.

Her stats are

Str 16
Dex 14
Con 14(real good for an elf)
Int 8
Wis 10
Cha 10

I am using the racial maxes for elf males for her height and weight.

INT 8 is not so dumb for an aventurer. You could lower this, or lower the WIS if you don't want to miss too much skill points.

How old does she start? Even if she starts at the minimum for an elf (100 years), she could have lived many decades amongst the barbarian. A typical barbarian could have been a baby when she arrived, and now be an old man (within barbarian standards), while she is still young. So she could be considered an eternal young woman.

We recently had a barbarian elf in our campaign. The player imposed a 2-syllable limit on everything the character said. Thus, "information" was never used, only words like "news", "talk" and so on. "Negotiate" was another word that was restricted, which made for some interesting alternatives. Note that two syllable words are fine... the character is a bit dim, but isn't a complete potatoe.

Another idea that we had was to express money in more simple terms. A price? Forget gold coins, what's that in wolf pelts?

Maybe a half elf would be more realistic. She already had the stig ma of being a half elf but to add to that she is a little slow and also stocky for an elf.She ran away when she was 12 and lived with the barbarians till she was 30.

I am thinking of giving her a half orc lover. She does not see half an orc but a whole person who she loves.

That would be challenging to roleplay.

Reminds me of a campaign I once played in, but sadly, never got to finish. Two of the characters were outcasts from thier society. A half-orc outcast from his tribe for not being as strong and Orcly as the other orcs (or strong for a human for that matter... Str 8). And a half-elf who left his elven city as he was tired of being made fun of by his peers. By the point were we stopped playing, the two were close companions, willing to risk life and limb to help the other.

birds of a feather flock together. There both strong and stupid I would see no reason why they wouldn't get along and why they would have any trouble becoming more than friends. I mean if sges stuck in the woods and its either him or an agitated squirrel I think we all know who she would choose.

I'm running a human barbarian of Int 10, Wis 7, and Cha 7 currently, and here's some things I implement when using him-

- He doesn't bother distinguishing between the different spellcasting classes. He just calls 'em magic man. He refers to the wizard as the elf magic man. Druids are the only exception, since he had 'em in his tribe growing up, and he's good friends with the dwarven druid of our group.

- Since meeting with all these sophisticated characters, he's learned some new vocabulary, but he frequently mispronounces it. He says negosherating and sophistamacated in place of negotiating and sophisticated.

- He isn't very inclined towards cityfolk, since they tended to take advantage of his lack of social skills in his first few months in civilization.

- He's a frequent drinker, so that's killed some brain cells( or slush up the mind, as he says)

- No ettiquite whatsoever. I'm waiting for a fancy dinner, so he can grab piles upon piles of uncooked food from the kitchen, impale it on his flaming sword and savagely gnaw it, only taking breaks to gulp down whatever liquid is handy and grab some more stuff off of the plate of whoever he's next to.

- He has no subtelty at all. If he sees the portly king riding atop a gilded carriage through the street during a festival, the first thing he's gonna say is "By Kelmar's pommel, that guy is fat!"
