| grayhurst02-06-04, 03:59 PM | I have a Dwarven Barbarian that I intend to play with an assortment of oaths and such. I've come up with a few, but it would be great to get some more input on this. Dishonor Nae Longer! (she was kicked out of her clan) I shall soak the grasses with Thy blood! Axe to Head, Hammer to Gut. Understand? (two weapon fighting) EAT FORGED STEEL YOU CURRS! Prepare to go SQISH! The vultures will feast tonight. Ye gibbering nose-pickin’ sewer rat Ye perfumed porridge-eatin’ piece a plaque Ye ‘ideous mucus-oozin' piece a bat guano Ye ‘idebound lice-ridden pixie Ye yeller teethed poor excuse for a rat's behind Any others? |

| nodwyck02-06-04, 06:43 PM | words for insulting a dwarf Friendless hearthless (hmm... your specimen was kicked out? this no good then) pearl-polishing (a pearl isn't a gem. it's clamsh*cough*t. anyway, it's from watery environ. should be enough) pebble! Short/small (minded/sighted/bearded) wine-drinkin' .../water drinkin' greengrocer gossip-monger? (of course, even dwarves gossip. but getting caught... tsk tsk tsk) forgeless (see hearthless. clannish little buggers, aren't they) star-gazer (see above) filthy/unbathed (weird?) short-changing oath-breaking coward my fav dwarven battlecries doesn't have words, or come to think of it, letters. it's just a whole lotta noise. Mr. T. Pratchett twisted the good old "Heute ist ein guter Tag zu Sterben" (sp?) to a dwarven battle oath: "Today is a good day for somebody (else) to die!" |

| Grislof the Blind02-08-04, 06:33 PM | i really cant recall where i have seen this.. but a long time ago in the boars someone wrote one of the best dwarven swears in my opinion .. "By moradin's shiny arse !" |
| The Druid02-08-04, 07:53 PM | My personal favourite, though not particularly Dwarvish, is from that wonderful game we call Fallout... "I'm gonna beat you like a red-headed step-child!" :D |
| grayhurst02-10-04, 10:09 AM | Originally posted by Grislof the Blind "By moradin's shiny arse !" That is great! I love it! Here's one I came up with while fighting some hobgoblins: "Ye'll never take me alive ye slimy cross between a monkey and a goblin's behind!" |
| CaoSlayer02-10-04, 10:31 AM | Elf: *washs his hands with water after peeing* "my people teached me to be clean* dwarf: *go out without doing nothing after peeing* "my people teached me to not pee in my hands" |
| Staver02-11-04, 02:25 PM | Not to sound like an advertisement, but don't overlook Dragon magazine as a resource. Issue 278 is devoted to Dwarves, including oaths and such, and issue 279 has a two-page spread on types of battle cries. -Staver ;) |
