Hi there!

My group will start a new campaign when 3.5 is out and I´m not sure what character I should play. It´s not that I have no ideas, the problem is that I have too many of them  I really like the new dwarf, the new ranger, druid and barbarian. I like the waraxe, adamantine armor but I also like the ranger´s virtual feats and the barb´s fast movement...you see the point... So I am asking for any ideas how to put all this in one character. I want to play this character from 1st level up, perhaps even to epic levels. Therefore it´s of upmost importance that I´m really content with it. It would be very nice if we could develope a concept and plan this character (lvl 1 and up). We are using 25 point buy and all official dnd books, I am not asking for a min/maxed char but for one that has flavour and somehow feels well rounded.

Danke schön in advance :fight!:

Okay, here's a possible story to explain the existance of a barbarian/druid/ranger dwarf with axe and armour away from his clan. Replace names in italics with suitable names from your own campaign world.

Deep in the dwarf-halls of Zwergbirge the dwarven king, Kralir IX sat on his iron throne and listened to the tales of the missing artefact - the Draechinstein. His lesser dwarflords explained that now that it was gone, it would be difficult to recover, as its magical aura would obscure it from any who deliberately searched for it.

However, Kralir was wise, and foresaw a solution. He took his own amulet - that allowed him to know the Draechinstein when he saw it - and had his best smiths and craftsdwarves forge copies. And these were given to a band of warriors from the Wildezwerge - a tribe of savage dwarves that lived in the shallow caves of the foothils of the Zwergbirge where the Schwarz forest grew densely. These dwarves would know nothing of their quest, save only that they must wear the amulets that were given to them, that they would know what to do when the time came, and that they should split up.

"Team up with other surface races. Engage in their quests. Take their causes as your own. Learn their ways. Learn to survive... you are already experienced with the surface and the forests, but the wilderness is vast. Wear the amulet, and you will know when the time comes... now go."

And the warriors ran off, armed with their great-axes; their adamantine armour daubed with green-braun paint. Half an hour into the dark undergrowth, they begain to split off. One by one, they took different paths, heading down gulleys, tracks and over little stones that forded narrow streams of murky water. Soon, each one was alone, heading out into the unknown, not knowing why, or where or how. Puzzled, but fiercely determined, as that is the way of their race.

And now the learning of the untamed wilderness would really begin...
