Okay, so next week my friend and I were invited to start in a campaign that will be in Eberron, and my character is a bardic sage/archivist gestalt character with all the knowledges minus local and nobility maxed out. The only problem that I have is that I know like nothing about Eberron at all. My friend has the books, all of them, but since it starts next week and I do have a life outside of the game I was wondering if all of you wonderful people out there would help with with a summery of the History of Eberron and anything else that would help me play my character. Mostly just major facts that I should know, mannerisms I should adopt, phrases that would make routine appearances that I should be aware of.

The limited knowledge that I can give you guys to help me out is that he is a Tiefling, the DM mentioned something about the fact that I could have some affiliation with Morgrave University but I have next to no clue as to what that is. So please, please, PLEASE. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

A tiefling bard, huh? An interesting choice. The wiki does a decent job explaining the campaign setting's story here. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eberron#World) As you'll see, Eberron is a place full of interesting locales: Morgrave being only one of them.

The university is one of the finest centers of learning, and plus it's located in possibly the coolest city ever, Sharn: City of Towers. Morgrave is just one option you could explore, but Morgrave's knack for patroning adventurers is unparalleled. They send PC's on treasure hunts, exploring ruins, and on all the fun stuff that makes DnD really exciting.

You could play a knowledge-savvy scribe with a thirst for uncovering the secrets of the Daelkyr, searching ancient temples for runes to unlock hidden horrors that should be left lost in the depths of Khyber. It all really depends on how you want to play your character, then finding a place to fit him will be easier.

Thanks a lot for the link. My main thing behind my character after I stated him up was he had a 21 intelligence and a 9 wisdom, so he was going to be the forgetful know-it-all, but since he has max ranks in most all the knowledges, except Local and Nobility, and bardic lore I figured he would be the type of person that sees life really as a story being written and he is just reading along if that helps at all.

But I guess I will figure out more as the campaign progresses, but thanks again sylas for your help.
