A friend and I have recently rolled up two Elan characters who knew each other previously to being chosen (in fact one was chosen and he pointed the council in the direction of his old friend who he thought would be a good choice, and they took him up on that)

We are playing in Damara, and are trying to think of various Elan ultimate motives and suchlike.

The Elan, as I understand it, must eventually desire total world domination (in the very very long term) because they are creating effectively immortal creatures and sending them out into a human run world in humanoid forms - but we are looking for shorter term goals. Not the sort that will give us a specific and immediate quest, but slightly longer term than that.

I can see that the Elan council want to create a foothold in Damara, as it is a country still growing and has yet to reach the state of development of the Sword Coast - so if they places operatives within its borders who are ostensibly working towards its betterment it will give them a good hold on the country once it reaches a fully developed stage.

I was hoping that I might tax the brilliant minds that loiter in these forums for some more or further ideas on the Elan Council's decision to send us (a Psion and Psychic Warrior) to Damara, and what they might hope that we will achieve.

Any thoughts would be gratefully appreciated.

How about they are trying to instill psionics with a new light that is not looked down upon and possible turning this kingdom into a land that is a "safe haven" for people with psionic abilities. This of course could work very well with the world domination theme as then they could eventually completely subvert the ruling body and then use the land as a kind of staging point for the eventual takeover of every other land.

I know sounds kinda uninspired but it's what I could give in a pinch.
