| Acheron09-18-05, 02:56 PM | I recently started a Dragon Lance Campiagn as a Half-Kaganosti fighter. The cleric in the group is a Silvanesti, trouble at it's worst. THe rogue is qualanesti, more trouble. The ranger is Kaganosti, no troulbe here. My DM said that I could be decendend from royalty, but that's all I have. other stuff- my character is CG, try's to get along with everybody, slightly mischeivieous. Because of the whole "elves hate half-elves" thing, I really need some help to figure out why I'm even adventurins with these people. Btw: the whole theme of the campaign is that the dragons of Krynn are rumored to have returned and I have found part of Huma's Dragon Lance. Other than that, nothing else special has happened. WEll, besideds me tribal dancing in a market square in the middle of Palanthis :D... |
| Morka09-19-05, 01:15 PM | Is there a elven woman in the party? Could you be in love with her? (A bit too much Tanis-like, but it's always a good idea.) Other than this, ask your DM if there could be some kind of prophecy stating "The Chosen Warrior will appear with Huma's lance." Problem is you're half-elven, and you have half the said weapon... |
| Starlight Knight09-19-05, 09:58 PM | I once had this same problem. Only I wasn't a half-elf, (just ask my group.) I was a half-human. The reasion I was with the group, they just happened to be headed the same way I was. I also took it upon myself to prove to them that a half-elf (I forced them to accept me as such) was just as good as an elf. When that didn't work I told them they were just jealous because I had an elven home and a human one. It was a lot of work, but it was great role playing. |
| Acheron09-22-05, 04:37 PM | Well, Marka, there isn't a female in the party ( :censored: ). My whole goal was to be like Tanis in a way. Heroic and all, but be wholey accepted by everyone. I want to take levels in the Dragon Rider class, but taht isn't until 10th lvl, in the meantime, I thought about taking a couple levels in "Order of the Bow Initiate". It was just an idea, but if you have any objecttions, plz let me know. |
| General_Ridley09-22-05, 07:26 PM | Time period? If post War of the Souls, I don't really know, because I'm only at the second book of that. pre-that, maybe you guys could have some pretty enlightened attitudes about other elf races. |
| Acheron09-23-05, 04:21 PM | Yeah, it's past the War of the Souls and Chaos bringing fire to the Earth thing. So, I can use anything from then on, without game affect of course. |
| General_Ridley09-23-05, 06:34 PM | Then I'd go with the group being enlightened about the way that racism can destroy, and possibly they crusade to enlighten to other elves of the world, but they need to kill a bunch of kewl monsters in order for anyone to take them seriously. |
| Acheron09-24-05, 08:46 AM | Something like that would work, only that some prejudice has already emerged. While I was tribal dancing around the fountian, the Silvanseti Cleric threw some caltrops (and yes he is a cleric) on the ground. Fortunatley, I made my Ref. save so I didn't step on them. But the action is enough to say that there is some racisim already. In the long run, I want to fix that, but since we've only played a few times, I haven't done much in the way of healing any bad feelings. My character has also taken center stage with this campaign so far. As I said, I found part of Huma's lance, I took it to a magic shop to be identified, the guy said that it was Huma's lance, so he said "Find the rest, big money as reward, noone else has come out alive, ect., ect., ect." So I was sortof happy so I started tribal dancing around the fountain mainly to attrcat the other players so I could "recruit" them. Well, we went through this whole run-in with half-orcs, little hobo kids, 2 steel peices, and a daylight spell  . Well, as a recap, won the "powergamer" of the day award :) . So, yeah |
| General_Ridley09-24-05, 08:09 PM | 'enlightened but still a little weirded out by the other cultures' would fit then. |
| Acheron09-25-05, 05:12 PM | 'enlightened but still a little weirded out by the other cultures' would fit then. Huh? |
| Acheron09-27-05, 02:33 PM | Yeah, it looks like this post died :allalone: *sigh* |
