This is what I dragged out of some file in my documents. This is a first level elf scout (using DR346's sniper variant). The particular elf subrace has either an INT or a CHA penalty (used 25 point buy). I already have a picture which I might post eventually. These are the traits I found for him:
Curious/inquisitive, Fishing hobby, Liar, Cowardly, Driven, Wastrel, Forgiving, Greedy, Even tempered, Average intellect, Immoral (with regards to intercourse), Irreligious, Egoist/arrogant, Mature, Very stable sanity.

Any backstory ideas?

Hi Khadmus,

While the stats and traits may seem useful, they are not much help. How about starting with a seed of an idea then everyone can help you fill in the details.

Have you got a name for the character, yet.

The name is Aust. I have written a rudimentary backstory, and I would like you to smooth out some of the rough parts (especially the years...I seem to have completely ignored age with this particular draft). Take this as a character concept with a bit more detail.

Aust was born among the elves, the son of a half-elf and an elf maiden. His father, disgusted with human decadence and greed, had ran away to live with the elves. About 2 days after Aust’s birth, his village was attacked and razed by orcs. He and his father managed to escape, though, and they fled to the half-elf’s old village…and the half-elf’s old human wife.
The town was called Mitchell’s Mine, and was a mining town. Mitchell’s Mine was in the wilderness, which resulted in a large quantity of gold languishing in the town between caravan visits. There was no other outlet for this gold: no tithes to give, no taxes to pay, not much food to buy. Nevertheless, the gold, as always, triggered greed. Immense greed, which disturbed his father greatly,
Aust’s father was a good man, if a bit haughty. His “holier-than-thou” attitude was frowned upon by many of his neighbors, but he is a very likable person. Although fairly well-off, he extols the virtues of physical labor, making his own shirts and shoes, as well as growing his own food. He was informally considered the town judge, although prone to bursts of anger upon hearing about the alleged crimes.
Aust’s stepmother was a less outstanding individual. A promiscuous wastrel, a compulsive liar, and a coward; she was almost glad when her husband left. However, she took care of Aust. Unfortunately; this resulted in many of her bad habits rubbing off on him. She taught Aust to not lose his temper, as Aust’s father frequently did.
Aust had a human brother named Christopher. Christopher was unusually mature for a child, and often served as the voice of compassion for his father. The two brothers appreciated each other and tried to be like each other. They both learned much from their father, including living off the land, how to fish, and the virtue of morality. Christopher was very wise and eventually became a druid.
When the friction between human culture and the rate of elven growth became too great, Aust was shuffled back into a random elven village. Despite his youth, he was trained for battle almost immediately upon arriving. Quite some time later, he was discharged from service. Aust then began journeying.
Aust’s father is now a retired bard. The mining town is running out of gold, but is still prospering. Aust is 4’ 7” and weighs 87 pounds. He is 116 years old. Aust’s father is 146 years old.

I liked it alot, up until this part-

He is 116 years old.

Your telling me, your character has been alive for 116 years, yet only managed to obtain 1st lvl?

Seriously, i dont care if elves can live to 800 years, it doesnt take them 100+ years to start adventuring and start leveling.

Like i said, good background, but if i were running that character, id put him more in line with his step-brothers age.

PHB age generation guidelines...I really dont like it either but meh. Any suggestions for a better age?

Hi Khadmus,

The background on your character looks fine to me. It is a little hard to follow sometimes, when you start talking about different villages.

You might want to come up with a reason why your character was trained for combat at such an early age in the elven village. Maybe the village is attacked often and everyone needs to learn how to survive, so the village teachs combat skills from child-hood.

The DM I have, does not use the PHB standard age generation system. You would have to talk to your DM about a younger age for your elf Aust, before doing it. Otherwise, add something to your background to expain his lack of experience at 116 years old.

It seems much easier to change the age...and the village was under constant orc attack. I should make that more clear in the backstory. The confusion can be changed with careful synomym choice and perhaps more specifics.

Hi Khadmus,

I would agree with both your statements. Good luck with Aust the Elf sniper.

I suppose that's all the comments I'll get. Thanks a lot! I'll yround out the personality with a few more character quirks.
