| Weiser_Cain08-16-04, 09:54 PM | Forgotten realms, Female Elf. I'm trying to work out the kinks on a elf raised by Orcs. I'm going to play this character but I also want to write some short stories. Questions. How many barbarian levels do you think she would need to survive against the likes of Drizzt for a (very)short period of time? I'm open to a few Rouge levels, but only if absolutely necessary(I'd rather give her a magical item) since I want to explore magic with this character latter in the characters life. How long can/does an orc live(just wonderring how many generation of Orcs shes going to have to live through until she's an adult)? Also how young would an elf have to be before they were more than a toddler? I'm trying to make her old enough so she has no attatchment to elves and so would have no problem killing them. Finally, what question/problems pop to mind with this character concept? |

| Weiser_Cain08-17-04, 07:18 PM | I'm still toying with that part, the current idea is that they are compelled to raise her for some reason. I may tie it in with her later magic classes, but I don't want to break out the crazy Lich without trying something else first. Also I'm thinking about her protector dying at some point(thus me wanting to know how long a Orc could live). |
| SilverFoxKnows08-17-04, 08:47 PM | maybe the Orcs kept her alive because they wanted to know their enemy. How often do you get a chance to study your nemesis up close? Maybe this directive came from one of Grumsh's (sp?) infernal messengers or priests, that way the idea stands even after the chief who took her in dies of old age. Maybe even a prophecy, something along the lines of "she will wear the skin of an Elf but have the heart of an Orc and she will bring ruin to the woodland wizards". Nice idea, good luck. Frank |
| Araciel08-18-04, 07:15 PM | that sounds cool, orcs live slightly less as long as humans do, they reach maturity around 13 i would assume, if yo look at the ages for humans and half orcs, you can use them as a comparison and make orcs the lowest rung on the ladder using the other two as a formula...so they wouldnt probably get past 50 in years i think...and those are the oldest |

| devinmdp08-19-04, 10:48 PM | Why do the sahuagin use malenti? Same reason the orcs might use a surface elf...as a spy. In addition, what a propoganda piece....Gruumsh is so mighty even elves are beginning for worship him! Devin |
| Fox Lee08-19-04, 11:18 PM | I see a 6'6" redhead with massive muscles and a giant greatclub made from a tyrannosaur femur, but that's just because that's what my elf-barbarian-raised-by-orcs was like :p If you need a reason for the orcs to raise her, you could just try having non-evil orcs. Sure, it doesn't happen every day, but it's not like they're inherently evil creatures or anything. Khaira - that character of mine - was taken in by a group of orcs and half-orcs who were unlikely converts to Corellon Larethian. Because she was an elf, a member of their god's own people, Khaira's tribe saw her as some kind of gift, or child of destiny; since she lived through four or five generations of them she came to be sort of a communal child, raised by the entire tribe. |
