I'm trying to picture what "elven full plate" would look like, and I'm having trouble doing so. I don't know if this is the right forum to post this, but any ideas would be apprieciated!

Thanks!

Well, I'd go with the armor of the Ragewalker ( Monster Manual III) and tone it down a bit - maybe add a few golden ornaments.

The pic is here : Ragewalker pic (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/mmiii_gallery/83038.jpg)

I always assumed it would look pretty much the same as regular fullplate, only with a tendency to be slightly thinner and longer, being as elves tend to be slightly thinner.

Something like this (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/cd_gallery/81344.jpg) or this (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/row_gallery/86639.jpg) would be appropriate, I should think.

Ok, to best figure out what exactly it would look like. just remember the process for making it.

1) Take 3-4 elves (1 elf for Small armor , 6-7 for Large)
2) Boil them for 60 minutes
3) Take them out of pot and remove internal bones and organs.( Lay intestines aside.)
4) Lay them out in sun to dry.
5) Apply proper solution to cure and harden flesh properly.
6) Pound with heavy mallet and work into necessarily shapes.
7) Repeatedly twist intestines tighter and tighter until they are as thin as possible.
8) Sew pieces of armor together with intestines.

and TADA!!! you have one suit of elven plate armor

I hope that helps you visualize it....

Elven Full Plate looks much the same as regular Human full plate, only it is much stronger and much lighter than Human full plate is.
as for how it looks, it looks the way the person it was made for wants it to look. It can be very simply ornamented or very heavily ornamented.
Also, remember this, Elven Full Plate is extremely rare and made for maybe one or two elves at most, perhaps one suit for the king and one suit for a general or a great elven hero, it usually isn't made for an outsider unless that person has rendered a VERY GREAT service to the elven nation. :)

I think something like this (Haldir on Helm's Deep in The Two Towers) would do perfectly.

Make it have elegant curvings, thin and light but still covering the entire body. Many decorations probably, but not necessarily. And maybe add some special unique details that are related to your elves in particular; maybe a nation's symbol or something on it.
