| Sang-Drax04-15-05, 07:21 PM | Here's the description for Halkyr, a gray elf Necromancer 10/Shadowcraft Mage 5/Archmage 3/Loremaster 2. (yes, Shadowcraft Mage - I'm using the 'adaptation' rules written under the roles and all that stuff) He's lived among humans through all his life. His hair is originally silver (see below). Halkyr is a weird figure. It looks like the night is printed on his features - he's got raven black hair, just like a night sky, with strands of silver that resemble like stars. His mysterious elven purple eyes only contribute for this impression. His skin is unusually white, even though it's not a sickly white as he sure wanted it to be. The pinky shades on his cheeks bring such peace that it makes him look like a good boy - something he hates above all. Halkyr is a necromancer after all, he needs to look evil. He even paints his hair so it looks dark and cool. Luckily, elven hair grows rather slowly, so he doesn't have to worry about his hair wakening in shades of silver all of a sudden. Halkyr favors 2 outfits: pompous dark blue wizard's garment, with a large pointed hat that he wears on parties, when he wants to make clear to everyone that he is powerful, really powerful. Other than that, he favors plain dark shirt and thick leather leggins under a fancy darkweave surcoat. Wizards are a great target, so, he'd rather let his foes think he's an aristocrat or something like that. This unusual elf fights an inner struggle all the time. He wanted to be evil, he really wanted to, but he just can't. He is not as fond of undead as he was supposed to be... they are stinky and creepy. He knows he has to make the mortals pay, but pay for what? He has no hate of life. He just happens to like necromantic magic, reveling in manipulating negative energy, to slay his foes by making their bodies and mind crumble to dust. He's got a knack for illusions and cold related spells, too. He's got a theory that no other wizard in Khorvaire would accept: he insists that all these kind of spells are woven of the same shadowy magic fabric. He's only started writing his thesis, however. The only thing that Halkyr loves almost as he loves necromancy and illusions is science. He sometimes regrets being a wizard because he had not the time to study sciences with the proper dedication they deseve. Erm, time? "Well, I must have been living amng humans for too long", he always reminds himself, "I'll have aaaall the time in the world when I retire from spellcasting". Yes, Halkyr is an elf, and time shouldn't be an issue for him. But he cannot get rid of this human paradigm, he wants to do everything at the same time, when there's just no need for rush. That said, he always saves some time to peek into an Anatomy or a Physics book, his two passions. True, Anatomy somewhat has something to do with his beloved Necromancy, but the same can't be said regarding Physics. It's totally useless to improve his magical skills. But hey, life is short, like they say. They who, Halkyr? "Erm, I don't know... the people. (pause). What? (pause). Right, right... humans... their lives are short *he he*... but not mine. I'm in no hurry. I'm an elf - thus, I'm nearly immortal" (breathes deepily and keeps on studying a new spell, all the while shifting his gaze to a Physics book, on a shelf right above him). |

The ties between shadow illusion , cold and necromatic magic is also neat. -Nice stuff. |
