Eilistraeeeee 07-16-04, 10:10 AM	this is my background for an elven mnk2/rog3 who is going to advance as guild thief (actually maffia thief, but no class:cool: ) and later as Ninja of the Crescent Moon) (this is abbreviated, no time to translate dutch to english today) Annatar was born on the island of Tolgalem (an island of elves). He was then left by his parents at a monastery when he was 3. There he was trained to be a monk. He was very curious (for an elf) and he quickly learned how to move really silent and to keep from being seen. He listened to a lot of conversations not meant for his ears and like his friends there made it a hobby not to get caught but still wait until the last moment before the door opened. Like all the other boys Annatar got caught a lot of time and accepted his punishment. But he had talent. He learned more and more about the monastery and it's inhabitants and it came to his ears that the leader of the monastery, Turgon, had a second occupation, being membership in Tolgalem's maffia, a worldspread elven organisation (equivalent to the maffia you all know). He spoke with Turgon about this but he denied everything... Turgon had the boy followed for the next 10 years. When Annatar reached adulthood he was extensively tested by the other (older) monks. He then got picked by Turgon to go with him to some "old friends" in the village of Malach. When they arrived there they went to a shady and Turgon rented a specific room. In that room Turgon said to Annatar that he should follow him and stepped throuh a large mirror. They appeared in a huge hall with an even huger tree in the middle that came up through the floor and went through the ceiling. In the room 2 elves, a man and a women named Silion and Marill, sat on cushions and asked Turgon if this was the boy. Turgon said yes and they waved him away. Then they told Annatar that they were 2 members from the maffia. He was then given 1 hour of time to think about joining or not (ofcourse they said he already knew too much to refuse and walk away). Ofcourse he agreed (hey, it's MY character) and the next 15 years he spend in several places on Torgalem and rose higher in the ranks of the maffia until the point where he now is... What do u guys think of it?? any suggestions about background or the name of the organization (i've been brainstorming my brains out but cant come up with something good). thanks for all the responds (lets hope they come soon:) )

Does the monk in question know but is not telling to keep your pc obligated to him?. what does your character think about the organization? is he there only because of the consequences to leave would be too much for him? Does he enjoy working with them? how about the organization what is their main source of income and how widespread they are? SoulLord

Does he enjoy working with them? how about the organization what is their main source of income and how widespread they are? my character always lived a kind of lonely life in the monastery and amused himself with sneaking around. Now he can do it while getting paid. He really enjoys it, cause he can get something out of his life now, monkhood was not his way to go. He started out as LN monk. 2 levels in the monastery and has now gained three levels in rogue and is going more towards True Neutral or maybe even evil given enough time in the organiztion.
