Emerald Enclave Information [Archive] - Wizards Community

Could anyone here give me or point me in the direction of any detailed information about the Emerald Enclave? I'm basically looking for anything that would help enhance my character's backstory.

You might want to try posting in the Forgotten Realms boards. Perhaps they'll be able to help you better than I do.

The Emerald Enclave is an organisation of druids and other people who protect the natural resources of the Vilhon Reach and nearby lands. It was founded in 374 DR and is based on the island of Ilighôn.

The Enclave's organisation consists of different "circles," each with different responsibilities. The Elder Circle (the leaders) are the Chosen of the gods Mielikki, Eldath, and Silvanus. Anyone can join the Enclave as long as they do not serve evil, are not members of another organisation (except the churches of the gods mentioned, obviously), have not committed any crimes against nature and have performed a significant act that benefits nature in the Vilhon Reach.

The members of the Enclave, also known as Caretakers, have six goals.
1) Preserve nature in all its forms
2) Control human expansion
3) Agree that magic should not be used for mass destruction
4) Warn against the dangers of using magic on a grand scale
5) Recognise that nature encompasses more than just forests
6) Present a united front to the outside world

All members of the Enclave wear some sort of green symbol. They travel often, and prefer to work with others rather than using acts of violence. There are "cells" of druids in other places that the nclave thinks might become endangered, like Cormanthor, the Great Dale and the High Forest.

The Emerald Enclave despises the church of Talos and the People of the Black Blood, who are a group of lyconthropes that worship the beast god Malar. (Many evil druids follow Malar.)
