Background: In the far north of Talinga (part of my private campaign setting) lies the small country of Desfaraiya, part of the Winter Commonwealth. A cold and bleak land, it nevertheless contains valuable mithrel mines. The main sources of income are the mithrel mines and tourism to yearly Wyrmaster Festivel. The Wyrmaster Festival commemorates the victory of the land's first king, William the Wyrmaster, over an enormous white dragon at mythrel mines. His house was renamed Williamson in order keep his name in the family.

Paliden: Sir Charles Williamson is the second son of King Daniel Williamson (if the names sound weird, it's took them from my real family). He might have been chosen as the next king, was called to be a paliden of Blizaros, god of the winter. This choice proved unpopular to some, as he was well-loved. Kind, fair and charismatic, he would have made a great king. He wields a magical sword known as Summer's Bane, a gift from his father. LG

Wizard: Lady Pamina Williamson is Charles' first cousin, but they grew up together very close. She insisted in a typically direct manner that she be taught the arts of wizardry, and turned out to be quite good at it. She enjoys life as her father's court wizard. CG

Rouge: Alex Nefarilan is a fun-loving, quick-thinking Snowion (a race decended from humans and elves who settled the north long ago. See other stuff for details). He serves as a spy occasionally, and is known for stealing from dishonest merchants only. He grew up in poverty before being trained by a former rouge who took him in, so he is also somewhat charitably inclined. Sort of a D&D Robin Hood. CG

Cleric: Stev Mullhammer moved fled to Desfaraiya as a young dwarf due to an act commited by his parents. Ragged and pennyless, he staggered into the temple of Blizaros for aid, and recieved a vision of a Storm Angel, charging him to aid the royar family in any way possible. Stv was an instant convert to Blizaros, and quickly managed to become a cleric. He has always tried to help the royal family, conducting servaces, tutering the childern and even helping Charles with his weapons skills. CN

A nearby country became jelous of Desfaraiya's mythrel wealth, unfortinatly, and invaded. Desfaraiya's people fought bravely, but were driven off by the much larger army of Zerfarim. On the night of the attack, Charles was meditating in the chapel of Blizaros when he heard a voice saying,

"Collect the teacher, the sister, the sword. Take them to the rouge of winter, 'fore battle over silver doth leave him dead. Seek the Hero of Desfaraiya, the Wyrmslayer. As he triumphed over dragon, he can show how to triumph over man."

Starteled out of he trance, Charles saw nothing but the gently swirling snow outside the window. His first though was 'I have no sister.' As he mulled over the message, he suddenly realized THE NIGHT HAD BEEN CLEAR ONLY MINUTES BEFORE. It must have been a dream sent by Blizaros, he decided. That ment the 'teacher' was probably going to be Stev. And, since his mother had taken most of his female relatives on a trip to Talinga, Pamina was the only female in the house apart from his 106 year-old, half-fossilized and more then half mad gradmother. The 'rouge of winter' was a mystery, however.

He quickly gathered Stev and Pamina. Stev admitted he had recieved a similar message, but instead of the 'rouge of winter' he had heard 'the spy of snow'. Pamina guessed it ment Alex Nefarilan, since he was the only one she knew of who was both a rouge, a spy and a Snowion.

They met Alex soon after setting out. He was badly injured. After some quick healing, he informed them of the attack. The meaning of the messages was now clear. They had to find William the Wyrmaster and get him to tell them how to free their country. They escaped the capital by a secret tunnel and tried to figure out what to do next. They were forced, however, to take shelter in an old cave by the rapidly building blizzard.

Summer's Bane: Frosty Bastard Sword. (1D6 extra damage on hit.) +1 damage on firey creatures (DM's choice which), -1 damage on icy creatures (DM's choice which). +2 attack always.

Snowions have the following charicteristics:

+1 constitution- from living in icy north for so long
-1 charisma- living in icy north gives a weatherbeaten, untrustworthy appearence.
*Takes 1 dire roll less damage (i.e. if attack does 3D6 damage only does 2D6) from cold attacks, but 1 die roll more damage from fire attacks.
+5 on survival checks in wintery conditions.

Blizaros, the god of winter, is chaotic neutral. His titles are the Storm Lord , Heart of Winter and the King of the North. His favored weapon is the heavy pick. His domains are Nature, Air, Water, Ice. Can only spontaniously cast heal spells.

Ice domain: Do 1 extra point of damage on all spells that do cold damage.
1. Ray of frost
2. Protection from Ice (take half damage from ice attacks.
3. Ice wall (raise a 100 square foot (any shape you want) wall of ice that is either 10 feet tall or up to the height of the ceiling.
4. Ice Shield (like Fire Shield but with cold damage instead)
5. Ice Storm
6. Cone of Cold
7. Iceball (like Delayed Blast Fireball but with cold damage)
8. Control Weather (Winter of Late Winter effects at any time, but only no other effect at any time).
9. Elemental Swarm (cast as water spell only)

Ok, this kind of evolved into a campaign but what the hell, i know what i'm doing with them. They start at level 5. Tell me what you think, especially about the Ice Domain. :)
