| Fithero08-09-05, 07:00 AM | Ok, two of my friends and i are playing an evil gestalt game where we are given a small town out in the middle of nowhere to mess with. Basically what were looking for are evil things we can do in the town. Now im not asking for the various ways to slaughter all the women and rape all the men, thats stupid evil. What were looking for are things like kindnapping people and putting them up for randsom or setting up a witch hunt on one paticular person in the town. Yeah, its evil...but its not all-out-psychotic-evil...we do actually have some limits (even though were playing an evil gestalt game :P ) Now were all first level, and all related by blood, our characters are. Human: Wizard/Rogue Half-Orc: Barbarian/Ranger Half-Elf: Unknown So yeah, evil acts that a few 1st levelers could get away with with a bit og luck. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum (or if its just too ripe in general). Feel free to axe it if it is. |

I don't know if there is rules for drug addiction somewhere though. That could be a good way to recruit prostitutes. You could also "protect" some merchant against... yourself. You summon a fiendish viper in the stand of the merchants who don't pay the tax... |

In a small community, everyone knows everyone elses business. Start a bar and gambling establisment outside of town, girls, booz, gambling. an inn that will allow patrons to smuggle illegal goods through, have a "basement" to hide people in.... smuggling is very profitable or use it as a base to raid caravans. |

Make the local priest question their faith through convincing arguments. Start a cult/religion and try to convert everyone. Try to proclaim yourself their god. Pretend to be a prophet or direct conduit to the popular deity of the village, convince them to do things that challenges their morals slightly because it is what their deity needs them to do. Keep pushing farther and farther, see how far you can make them go to commit evil acts in the name of their neutral good deity. Desecrate their church and graves with vile things such as entrails of sacrificed animals and the like. Dig up the graves and return the bodies to their families, leave them in comical poses. |
| Ander Spectacular08-11-05, 04:03 PM | The best way to be evil is to not appear evil. Go on adventurers/missions in the name of the town and return victorious. You can also set people up in town as being evil by breaking into their houses and planting bodies/evidence. With this happening, you are easily seen as protectors. While you are adventuring, make sure that any henchman, hirelings, etc do not make it back and spread your version of the story. Once you begin to amass power and a name for yourself, begin lobbying for public office(sheriff, mayor) using all the tales of adventurers and seemingly beneficial acts you have done clear. The trick to being evil is being thoughtful. Anyone can plan kidnappings and torture, but not every villain converts an entire town to his through carefully managed events. Obviously, the wizard should make a good "mastermind" type of character and provide opportunities for control(enchantments). Also, don't be afraid to make lots of friends via diplomacy and then at some point enspell them(being friendly with people can easily get them to except spells cast on them) and convert them into pawns for the game. Don't get too caught up in being evil that your ultimate goals are not realized, people generally get too caught up in the havoc that being evil can be and forget to plan and be patient. Play with commoners' minds, after all thats what commoners are for. -AS- |
| Scyld08-11-05, 04:15 PM | I think you're going about this entirely the wrong way. Fiends may be evil for the sake of being evil, but no non-outsider is. People want things. Some people choose wicked ways to get what they want. Some people don't. A thief wants wealth. So does an honest businessman. The thief is willing to steal to get that wealth. The honest businessman is not. A sorcerer might want power. So does a diabolist. The diabolist is willing to sell his soul to the nine hells in order to get that power. The regular sorcerer is not. It's not about 'being evil.' Figure out what your characters WANT. Then figure out how far they're willing to go to get it. Then you've got your game. |
