What i've got so far.
He's a war veteran of the last war, recieving the "gift" of elans, was a great warlord of tremendous power capable of slaugthering hundreths, wielded artifacts of legendary powers, amongst them "the eye of khyber", a regalia of items, doesn't care about strangers at all.

The Battle of Vanguard Keep
“We must press on!” yelled a booming voice across the ravaged battlefields of Breland, thundering ballista roared in the skies slamming into the regiments of the armies of Breland killing thousandths. He promised his army that before nightfall the keep would once again be theirs. His regiments were getting slaughtered, he didn’t know for how long he could keep them at bay, these monsters slaughtered his troops before his very eyes. There was only one thing left to do, venture forth into the depths of the caverns of time, he must find the eye of Khyber. An evil artefact of vast power rumoured to grant its wielder tremendous fighting abilities, if they were to win this war no price would be to large to pay.

The mighty troops of the eastern kingdoms clashed with Breland’s soldiers they fought on, as stubborn as both sides were, none of them willing to parle with the other side as this battle must be won. The armies of Breland had the upperhand the first week, crushing the enemies moral but suddenly this changed and Breland’s armies had to pull back into the Vanguard Keep where they would be barricaded and cut from the outside world. The site they had devoted themselves to defend wasn’t an ordinary site, ancient powers lay in the ground, long forgotten and perhaps better served that way. Vanguard Keep was the very pinnacle of the ancient power, the wound from where the powers seeped forth and poisoned the surroundings with foul fel magic. The soldiers found themselves trapped as rats in a cage with no possible means of escaping and so they came to the conclusion that they might as well search the ancient site through for an escape tunnel which was quite normal back then. This wasn’t the case, they found something widely different buried in the basement was a tunnel leading underground to what the soldiers would start referring to as the rift, seemingly magical powers streamed forth from this “rift”.

I'll continue the background tomorrow

11-29-05, 03:45 AM It is an interesting start, I look forward to seeing where you take it. A quick question. Is your character an elan and has become a great warlord or was the war lord and has become an elan. If the latter what lead to it because it could be a very interesting plot point.

He was a warlord, seeking redemption from his past, but slowly it's creeping up upon him :D.

It's kinda annoying as i have to translate it to danish when i'm done :/ double work (my dm doesn't want to read english), inorder to get some feedback. :weep:

11-29-05, 09:16 AM Your past gives you 2 main plot hooks: being a former warlord, and having used a powerful artefact.
As the former warlord, you could be recognized by former soldiers, friends or foes. You could experiment dreams of mass slaughters, etc. Did this warlord have a family, mother or father, siblings or cousins, any frustrated lover?
As the one who used a powerful artefact, you could have kept a bit of this power inside you. If this artefact was used eons ago by a legendary warrior, you could experiment dreams about this legendary warrior, and you could confound it with your own past. You could feel a strange attraction toward this artefact.

And now, who turned you into an elan? How much other elans do you know? Is there an elan you especially love, or hate?

Been thinking about changing his class to "soulmonger" an alternate psion using souls instead of power points, dunno how it'll work yet though :D.

EDIT: Removed the eye of khyber.
