| Nessaj12-23-07, 01:20 PM | I will be playing a warrior in an evil campaign, Forgotten Realms-based. Hadrian Rhyn. Probably going to be a Warblade/Bloodstorm Blade, but Ranger/Scout just works so well with the story I might have to change his build haha. He will be introduced to the rest of the party as stuck on a demi-plane they're visiting that's similar to Ravenloft in that once you get there, the only way to leave is to appeal to the plane's ruler, a devil lord. The plane was once an elven city but it fell into darkness and is now full of demon hordes, devils, and adventurers stuck eking out a living. Hadrian looks out for number 1, first and foremost. Instead of working with these adventurers he kills them and takes their stuff. The bad guy in any post-apocalyptic scenario. He's a former mercenary/Black Network soldier. I figure the PC's will have some means of escaping, not to mention numbers on their side, so I wouldn't feel like attacking right away. What I want help with is how he came to be on this plane, what artifact or item were his group looking for before he became stranded. He has a War Wizard's cloak from the MiC. I figure one of his former party members was it's owner. I want to have some fun with that hook. And finally, I'm taking a slight "I am Legend" twist to the character. Basically, he's been alone for years and years and it shows, talks to rocks, swears his buddy is "just out hunting and he'll be back soon," even though he's been dead for years...Stuff like that. So...Help me out? |

Evil games really aren't my specialty...The character is basically a mercenary. He wants glory, power, stuff...Maybe a small country one day. But for now I just want to work on his background. |

Since you know nothing of how most people come to this plane its hard to say how you did. I'm going to make a suggestion but it requires MAJOR approval from the DM since it goes to the nature of the world. This could be a plane where those who fail are sent. There are many adventurers who try to stop the BBEG and fail. There are even whole teams of them but of course BBEGs have to deal with numerous such groups. Perhaps this plane is for the teams that failed to save the world. The demon is there to see to it that all have a second chance but it comes at a major cost (A nuetral demon/angel hybrid works better but that's an aside for the moment). You then were hired by a band of adventurers to provide them with additional strength and sent, along with them to this other place for failing. It was their failing, you were pure support and relying on their bad info after all. You were still punished though. This embitters you and you start pushing the mercenary attitude further and further as you grow to hate this place more and more. |

Basically it's a demi-plane full of treasure-seekers. Only problem is, it's not as easy to leave as it is to get there. That they leave out of the history books since most people dont come back. The one who wore my War Wizard's Cloak was probably the one who brought my group there in the first place. |
