| Kaalan10-10-04, 05:21 PM | There existed a small human settlement somewhere in Faerun. This settlement was once controlled by the will of a powerful Sorceror/Mindbender by the name of Jeruel. Jeruel also commanded a band of Ogres who terrorized the surrounding countryside. He had a tight grip on the area both economically through the village and militarily through his ogre band. All was well for Jeruel until he grew too arrogant and used his ogre force far too often. The attacks soon began to upset a neighboring community. The neighbor investigated. It is said that one of the ogres wandered too far from his band and was captured by agents of this enemy. He was held for quite some time and eventually Jeruel's influence wore off. Thus the interrogation began. The ogre knew very little as being under the influence of a mindbender can wreak havok on one's memory. What little information that could be gleaned from the process told that the ogre band bowed to the outwardly amiable "mayor" of _____ville, Jeruel. Upon recieving this information the more powerful neighbor marched on Jeruel. As the army approached, the Sorceror sent the majority of his forces into battle as he took his few half ogres(good bodyguards as they are strong but not as dim as full blooded ogres) with him to escape into the wilderness. All seemed to be going well until Jeruel's carriage was assaulted by the flanking elite guard of the invader. In the resulting battle five of the six half-ogres were slain and the remaining survivor was knocked unconscious by a slam of a shield and consequently captured. Jeruel is promptly slain. The remaining half-ogre awakes to find himself in a jail cell tied to a chain. He has no recollection of who he truly is...All he knows his hatred, hatred for being in this jail cell, hatred for his blurred memory, and moreso than anything hatred for the sorceror who controlled his life. In a blind rage the half-ogre pulls his chains from the ground, bashes through his cell door, and unleashes havok on the guards. Outside in the night all he knows to do is run. For hours he runs until he can run no more. -------- I can imagine this character eventually being a juggernaught on the battlefield. Covered in solid black full body armor with shoulder spikes he sweeps his huge chain across the battlefield knocking over dozens at a time. When a spellcaster joins the battle he laughs as spells are cast his way and knocks them back at the caster. The caster tries illusions and mind control and this prompts a frenzy of the warrior in black. The caster is dead. Meet Daerok Longarm. Neutral-Evil Fighter1(Fighter10/OccultSlayer10 to be) -How does his story sound? -Where would be a good area for Daerok to be from? -How might this confused, angry, half-ogre meet up with a tiefling fighter of Mephistopholes and join his cause without killing him first?? -I've never played an evil character before...any fun roleplaying tips? Evil will be fun :D |
