Fogotten Realms Setting. Scarlet Vyshaan History: Scarlet Vyshaan is a noble woman born on the magical island of Evermeet. Belonging to House Vyshaan, Scarlet led an indulgent lifestyle. Everything came easy to Scarlet, not only because of how much she was catered to but because she was also a genius. Even as a child, her intellect was obviously great. She absorbed knowledge and solved problems quickly and without difficulty. Because of her great intelligence, Scarlet grew bored very easily and often. Usually she would know more than her teachers which resulted in her sometimes playing cruel pranks to pass the time. Seeking to harness her gifts positively, Scarlet’s parents hired private tutors to school her in the magical arts. First it was arcane magic and then divine magic but she dismissed each of these in turn. It was not until Scarlet was introduced to psionics before she became truly interested in something. Psionics were largely unknown to the sun elves and Scarlet took great pleasure in confounding her people. It made her feel special. As an adult, Scarlet was inspired by the recent liberation of Myth Dranor. Seeking to increase her power quickly and restore her House name to greatness, Scarlet left Evermeet in search of adventure. Appearance: Scarlet is 5 foot 4 inches, 78 pounds, and 150 years-old. Her skin is pale when compared to most of her kind but her hair is the familiar golden blond. Scarlet embodies the unearthly beauty, grace, and presence of the elven folk. Scarlet is often dressed in finely tailored clothes favoring cool colors such as blue and green. Her clothes are often decorated with intricate gold- or mithral-thread embroidery in exacting patterns whose subtle designs are easy to miss at first. Her jewelry is simple but painstakingly crafted. When in combat, Scarlet can be frightening indeed. The coldness in her eyes barely hides her anger and contempt for evil, stupidity, and ugliness. At times, especially when using psychokinetics, her hair will become animated above her head creating a fiery crown like effect. Personality: Of all the elven subraces, sun elves are the most arrogant and haughty. Sadly, Scarlet exemplifies this attitude. If she overheard someone accuse her of being a spoiled princess, she would not dissent. Scarlet has a sense of entitlement; therefore when she wants something, she wants it immediately and expects to get it. Scarlet believes that she is part of the true elven race, the builders and the leaders of the elven realms, and that the other elven subraces fail to live up to the solemnity and dignity of their ancient stock. While her fellow elves sometimes earn her disdain, lesser races are often treated with pity or are simply ignored. Rarely will she even crack a smile at one of the non-people much less honor them with acknowledgment beyond a command. Like many sun elves, Scarlet, won’t even deign to speak to a human and would rather leave a dying man to meet his fate than to save him. Scarlet holds absolute contempt for drow. She views the dark elves as abominations and insults to the Seldarine, and often attacks these hated enemies on sight. As word of the drow invasion of Cormanthor began to spread through Evermeet, Scarlet, like many other gold elves, sought to return to the mainland, if only to bring war to the drow and force them from the ruins of what the sun elves still consider their lands. Scarlet is Chaotic Good. She believes in individual freedom and the destruction of evil. While Scarlet can be cruel with her tongue, she would never allow physical cruelty to exist in front of her if she can help it. Scarlet favors contemplation, lore, and study over the quick games and light-hearted songs of the other elves. When set to task, Scarlet will devote her time to perfecting a task rather than just merely completing the task. To her, rushing a job or finishing a project in anything less than perfection is betraying the elven ideal. Scarlet has no love for combat, but is nevertheless well trained in its ways. She views combat as a necessary evil, and one that should be resolved quickly so the task can be done and one can return to more pleasant and constructive pursuits. Few sun elves are drawn to the life style of the adventurer. Scarlet on the other hand, seeks to keep a vigilant watch for the rise of any threats to the elven homelands. She is also drawn to the mystery of ancient power and seeks to add to the lore of her people by exploring ruins of ancient empires all across Faerun. Language: Elven, Common, Auran, Celestial, Chondathan, Gnome, Illuskan, and Sylvan. |
