| Ice_11707-15-07, 02:31 PM | When most people say 'feral' it brings to mind visions of truly wild creatures running about with twigs and dirt and leaves mucking up their appearance. But when one says 'Feral Warforged', what exactly does that bring about? I have a difficult time believing that any creature made out of processed ore, polished wood and solid steel would have an easy time pulling off the wild animal look. My idea was for something more of a lack of wildness. A more focused, deliberate kind of Warforged (heaven forbid). The Warforged Charger is a good example of what I'm talking about. It doesn't so much look like a gorilla on the rampage as it does a machine that's emulating a gorilla on the rampage. Another good example are any of the numbers of crazed constructed 'lifeforms' we see in those Sci-Fi movies and TV shows. I have a character in the works that will be following this pattern and I wanted to hear what you, the ladies and gentlemen of the Wizards forums, thought about it. Your ideas are my improvements. |

The biggest problem I could think of would be why it's adventuring-- it doesn't need food or shelter, it likely has few if any ambitions, and it has no natural enemies. |

And with good reason to, if the sounds of his pursuer were any indication. The little goblin ducked his way through bushes and ran beneath the low hanging branches of as many trees as he could but the creature was persistant. Scratch that, beyond persistant. The sound of trees snapping, shrubbery being crushed and the constant Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom of it's footfalls were more than ample incentive for Gresher to keep his pace and distance. A bramble bush slowed him and for a moment his thoughts screamed 'NO! NO! No, no, no, no, no! Please, no!' before he struggled through with an impressive amount of cuts decorating his soft, yellow hyde. As he continued his sprint he could hear from behind him the sound of his pursuer meeting the same bush and promptly uprooting it. He could tell it had been uprooted because, as he leapt over a stone to find himself on a game trail, that same bush's thick roots slammed into his back. The creature had used them as a makeshift throwing implement. In another time Gresher would have pondered just what kind of bush grew roots thick enough to bludgeon a goblin over the head with. But at the moment he simply laid there, wondering just what had hit him. He had prescious little time to think though as, just as he was recalling that he was running for his life, a tremendous, thick hand thudded into the ground next to his head. It was three fingered, shorn from stone and sheathed all in black metal like a skin. It gripped him by the shoulder, by the gods it was strong, and effortlessly flipped him upright to face his tormentor. The face was reminiscent of the frontmost part of the lightening rail, with a thick, heavy grill where the mouth should have been and piercing red eyes over it's noseless face. The body was thick, a common theme about the creature, and like the rest of it, clad in that same menacing black steel. It breathed twin streams of scalding steam and banged it's fist back into the ground, kicking up dirt and gravel. "Are you from clan Gorekut?" It bellowed furiously. Gresher stopped shaking for a moment, mindboggled. It spoke? "Are you from clan Gorekut?! It repeated direly. "I-I-I..." Gresher choked, parched and faint. "Are. You. From. Clan. Gorekut?!" It was not going to repeat itself once more. "N-no-no! No! No, I'm not!" "Where is clan Gorekut?!" It seethed. Gresher was silent, petrified. It groweld like two rocks being smashed together and raised it's fist. "Aah! On the other side of the forest!, Screamed Gresher "The other side! Please, Mercy!" With a hollow bellow and another blast of steam, the giant stone and metal man-thing tore off through the forest, knocking aside any foliage that grew in it's path. Gresher just laid there, breathless and, unsurprisingly, soggy. After a good twenty minutes of monsterless peace, he sat up and reached into his pant's pockets. From them he produced a four leaf clover and a rabbits foot charm. He through both on the ground and rightfully spat on them. "Lucky?!" He screamed. Clan Stinkroot merchants were scum. He fainted. See, the Warforged remembers that he kills one type of squishies and just makes the others wet themselves. |

| Ice_11707-15-07, 07:56 PM | Tell me about it. Also, off subject, for those with armor spikes and a good strength score, I present: Uses for Body Spikes! Use 1: The Cheese Grater (Gory!) Use 2: Trophy Mounts (ala Corpse Collector) Use 3: Hug- o'-Death (Warforged: Gimme a Hug!, Other Guy: Aaahhhhh!!! *runs*) Add others if you like. The mindset for a character like what I'm thinking of Can be summed up in a Quote: "The last war ain't over for him. Things just got a little quieter, that's all." |
