I'm building a new character after the death of my previous one. (wizard)
My previous character had written in his last will that he would want a cleric to contact his deity (Gond) and divine whether the god would want him to return (via resurrection).
If the god felt he wasn't done yet, he should return.
If the god didn't care he would return to prove himself worthy to the god.
And if the god decided his part was played out and he had earned his right to stand at his side in heaven he would remain dead.
My DM assigned 1-75 as didn't care, 76-95 as not done yet and 96-100 as done.
He then proceded to roll a 98. Serves me right for wanting to roleplay my resurrection. :D

So for my next character I'm building a half-celestial or aasimar cloistered cleric of mystra.
The build: cloistered cleric 3 / church inquisitor 2 / dweomerkeeper 2 / divine disciple 4 / contemplative 1 / dweomerkeepr 8

I build this (apart liking a lot of domains and the inablility to choose :) ) to represent a zealot of magic. He is dedicated to prevent magic from being used for evil.

For his region I have chosen Halruaa in Faerun (human). He has taken the regional feat magical training to represent his love for magic (and to qualify for dweomerkeeper :D ).

Character development:
Raised by non-magic using parents.
Taken in by the clerigy of mystra at a young age. (what's the name of that mountain temple again)
Focus on knowledge and study of magic instead of martial prowess. (cloistered cleric)
Selected to investigate infiltration of Shar shadow weave users within the church of mystra. (church inquisitor)
More detailed focus on magic and it's use. (dweomerkeeper)
Selected for a higher position in the clerigy resulting in more worshipping of the goddess (divine disciple)
Killed by worshippers of Shar but returned to the world as a partly divine being (half celestial or aasimar)
Focus on the celestial aspect of magic (contemplative)
Self awareness, magic above all, goes out into the world to fight evil magic users (back to dweomerkeeper)

Character attitude (LG):
Humble, polite, honest.
Magic is the provider and should be respected.
Respects wizards but mistrusts sorcerers as all halruaans do.

Battle atitude:
The character will use a lot of his recources to get his AC up high.
He will than walk through the battlefield buffing and healing allies.
He will only engage in combat with evil magic users or when attacked.

I haven't compiled all of this info into a story yet, but I was wondering how people feel about this general setup.

Any suggestions on aspect I haven't covered etc?
Books I should read to become more familiar with mystra and halruaa?
I'm currently working on "Shining South" for halruaa and will look at faiths and panteons for mystra.

If you got this far, thanks for taking the time to read it all and any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Killed by worshippers of Shar but returned to the world as a partly divine being (half celestial or aasimar)
Excellent idea. Aasimar isn't the best option by the Rule as Written, since they are far descendents from a celestial being. Half-Celestials have a very high Level Adjustment, so I suggest you a Celestial.

For more information about Mystra, try this link (http://toril.info/FaA.htm). Many raw information, based on many sources. And this link (http://www.toril.info/halruaa.htm) for Halruaa.

If BoED is available, this could be a great exalted character.

Yes, I am using the BoED.
I'll be using the +2 LA half-celestial from this book too.
My DM approved it with some modifications:
No wings, no spell-like abilities, no damage reduction, no spell resistance.

Which is great. I don't like the wings anyway.
It's not like you can just step up and talk to anyone you want if you've got two huge angelic wings flapping behind you.

Thanks for the links, they are really great.
I've decided to drop the contemplative level, the illusion domain doesn't really fit the bill.
And I've already got enough classes as it is.
Ther fifth level of divine disciple will give me the transcendence I already have, maybe I'll incorporate it into the story aswell.
Maybe first having a further toned down version of half-celestial and the rest of the powers coming into play after my transcendence.

This is one of the problems with having so many options available. I want it all :)

Anyway, thanks again that site is really usefull.
