| Blackened_Blade12-14-06, 12:18 AM | Hey all, Before I post anything considering the topic at hand, I would like to post some warning of what to expect from me. I am essentially a "n00b" to the actual D&D roleplaying game. All knowledge I possess is based upon the purely theoritical and is additionally biased by the novels concerning the Forgotten Realms, which I have read. Before I go on some rant, lets get down to buisness. My friend and I are planning to establish a Forgotten Realms campaign, based exclusivly around the Mysteries of the Moonsea suppliment. My friend, being the more experienced roleplayer, will be the DM unless we can find someone of greater experience. Until we can pull a group together (a problem in and of itself), I am content to sit back, plan and develope my character. Currently, the mechanical demensions of the character have been taken care of and all that remains is to continue to develope the "person" that this PC is intended to be. Given the "n00bish" nature our party will likely suffer from, we have decided to limit the group to either good or neutral, at least initially. My character, a dark haired, grey eyed and brooding Hillsfar native by the name of Vincent Darkeye is the character around which this articel focuses. He was a man in the employ of a mercenary band by the name of the Blackwood Company, which was under the command of an exiled Hillsfarian noble by the name of Kosef Hess. This band had, in the course of its twenty some odd years of existance, become a thorn in the side of Maalthiir and the High Lord in turn decided to eliminate the mercenary company. To this end, Maalthiir dispatched a large contingent of his Red Plumes mercenaries. By combination of a night attack and vast numerical supperiority, the Red Plumes were able to deal with the off guard Blackwood soldiers with few losses. Vincent, along with ten others, managed to escape. Currently, those escapies are spread about the Moonsea to offer the party roleplaying "jump off points" and legistical aid throughout the campaign. As for Kosef Hess, I purposefully left the fate of the charismatic captain ambigious in order to alow plot twists for the DM should he so choose. The Blackwood Company not only serves as a background, but also as a means to justify why my character is a level 2 fighter. Mercenaries fight all the time, so logically Vincent should be a relatively experienced fighter. Once the campaign gets started, Vince will be a relatively developed character. Vincent Darkeye Race: Human Gender: Male Class: Fighter 2 Eye Color: Grey Height: 6"1 Weight: 210 pounds Alignment: Lawful Neutral or Neutral Good (Your input will help determine this) STR: 17 DEX: 15 CON: 17 INT: 12 WIS: 13 CHA: 8 Feat Selection: Power Attack, Cleave, Weapon Focus (Greatsword), Combat Focus (Players Handbook II) I figure with some idea of the what the guy is looking like statistically, you can figure out what kind of guy he is (and yes, those stats were generated naturally). The books I have at my disposal for feat/class/gear selection are: Players Handbook (I & II), Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting, The Underdark, and Heroes of Battle. |
