| XandoHithrana04-15-08, 04:54 PM | Here is some pertinent information. Setting: the DM for this campaign is doing something that I love as a PC, using a world in which another game is affecting. My DM, she runs an epic level campaign on one day and the campaign four of my friends and I are in another day in the same world. The epic campaign has gone into the depths of hell while our campaign is an exploration northward from the southern lands that the portal to hell is in, we are obviously headed towards the portal to heaven. This is a mixed Seafaring/land enviornment campaign and pretty relaxed play atmosphere. I'm really enjoying myself. Classes and levels are as follows: 14th level Human Warblade (highly militaristic, in the navy of one of the epic level campaigns characters) 14th level Gnome Bard/Favored soul (Engineer and smith extrodinare, Group diplomat) 14th level Elf Druid <----- this is my character 12th level Human Celric (apperently is a loner type character) 12th level Dwarf Ardent/some other class (just joined the game yesterday, picked up after someone bailed, as far as I understand he's a fairly xenophobic dwarf that became stranded on an island. My character: He started out as a pretty bland character at the beginning since I didnt really have time to flesh out an original backstory like I do for most of my characters. At the onset of the campaign he was "enlisted" into the exploration navy ship (ie. forced to) and because of this he had a inner rage for being forced to undertake a cause he didnt stand for and on top of that fight under the banner of a country. Around 4th or 5th level he stumbled upon an orphaned child and brought her onto the ship. This obviously upset the crew and captain and brought some personal reprocussions. But this is what I built my character upon. Some in the party wanted to abandon the child, while others wanted to keep her. If the child were to stay, my druid would go down the path of good because the girl would bring out the nuturing instinct in his soul, while if the other PC's forced him to give up the child, he would have turned down the path of evil bearing a scorn and lust for revenge. My character was then Neutral. At about 8th level, I managed an amazing diplomacy roll and attained the deeds to a country and showed desert nomads (ala dune) the wonders of nature. On top of that I managed to begin the seeds of a family. I found an.....interesting wife, A succubus who chose to become human. Suffice to say there was much comedy and laughter when this happened. Now at 14th level, I have taken the leadership feat, have a group of followers and a country to keep them in. A wife expecting a child, an adopted daughter, and a trainee druid nomad. Anyone have any ideas on a background or some way to explain my choice to begin family building and the need to grow a community of druids elsewhere beyond my lands? Also, comments, suggestions, etc. on the campaign are welcome. I find the oddity and relaxed setting fun and really rewarding, while keeping it interesting because the epic level players affect the world im in and it changes because of that. |
