A kobold fighter w/scimitar+shield CG Mind flayer TN Duergar rogue a svirfneblin evoker A CG orc Warmage |
| Fithero04-28-06, 02:29 AM | thats a pretty interesting group youve got there... hope they have all got some detailed backstories. As for why they are together, perhaps seeing as its the time of troubles, Ao (god of gods... or whoever) has kinda enlisted them somehow for a role in the time of troubles (this is assuming that your setting is in the time of troubles and that wasnt just a play on words.) Perhaps they are all brough together by some powerfull being (ghost, dragon, demon/angel) to work together. They are all so differnt because a wide array of abilities and outlooks is required to complete the needed task (which for whatever reason, the greater being cannot complete themselves... bound, dead, trapped... whatever) As for your background of each character... youll need to give a little more info on how you want to play them, style and all that. Hope this helps Later |
| Need_A_Life04-29-06, 03:34 PM | One or more is connected to a minor organisation, the rest are hired as mercenaries to help that person perform a particular quest. While on this quest they hear of something troubling... They met in a tavern and decided to go adventuring? What exactly do you need? Is it actually The Time of Troubles or is that a pun? |
| Herobane04-29-06, 05:12 PM | I should have been more specific. You see, the party needs one of these guys, so I need backstories for ALL of them, 'cause I don't know which one the other players will choose. P.S.: the title WAS a play on words. |
| MattDroz05-01-06, 02:53 PM | Drow & Drider brothers: After the problems Menzoberranzan had with the disappearance of Lolth, the brothers saw their chance to escape from the stranglehold of the matron mothers and made out on their own. The drider had a long history of rebelling against the authority in the city (hence why he is a drider), while the other brother came along more for the adventure than for any real political reasons. Because of the drider's appearance, his brother is more of the mouthpiece of the two, going into towns & villages to barter goods and find work whenever possible. A kobold fighter w/scimitar+shield: This tiny gladiator was forced out on his own when his entire tribe was killed by marauding orcs. Now he wanders from town to town, seeking somewhere to fit in. Being constantly underfoot of most of the other races, he's learned to speak loudly and never to back down from a challenge or show any weakness. CG Mind flayer The elder brain rejected this aberration into the world, keeping it from "tainting" its siblings. It travels the world, cloaked physically and mentally, striving to do right from the shadows. TN Duergar rogue Leaving her family's underground home to strike out on her own, she is out to make her riches the old-fashioned way: by stealing them. If some adventurers want to pay her for her knowledge of traps and dungeons, all the more better. a svirfneblin evoker A brash young svirneblin, he is the polar opposite of stereotypical deep gnomes. Instead of staying to the shadows of the deep mines and worrying when the next attack may come from the drow, duergar or mind flayers, he's decided to learn about the powerful magic the evoker controls. However, learning the magic has its costs, both monetarially and personally. Indenturing himself to a human mage, he finds himself "rented out" to adventuring groups than need an extra spellslinger. A CG orc Warmage If being a scrawny runt of the litter wasn't enough, she's also a female orc AND wants to right by the world. Needless to say, she's quite the dissappointment to her mother, who hoped she'd have a few dozen grandkids by now. But being a warmage has meant that she wields a lot of power, something that even her brutish litter-mates respect and even fear. Something like this? |
