Elussan of the Bow 08-07-05, 08:50 PM	Hello! Soon, I'll be playing the spellcaster in a party of 4 in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting. The adventure is set to start on the Sword Coast, but I'd like to Prestige Class into a Halruuan Magehound. I'd like to keep a backstory pretty close to the Faerunian norm, and have some semblence of reality. My DM has already said that I'm apprenticing a wizard whose name I don't recall, but I'm pretty sure he's not Halruuan. I want to know how my background story shows that I can prestige into a Halruuan Magehound and still take part in the adventure in a different part of the continent. From what I've read, the only wizards to leave Halruaa are those who show no talent for the Art, and sorcerers (which I refuse to play because of their shoddy skill selection). Please help. Thanks always in advance! -El

Possible classes might be rogue (tons of skills), bard, (less skills, but more useful to a wizard), sorcerer (if you want to cast a bit more 1st level spells), cleric (you'll be able to use wands of healing). You might have been kidnapped by your mentor. Or perhaps your familly was in danger and to keep you safe, they hired a foreign wizard to keep you away from the risks.
