The reason behind this mix is the origins of my Aasimar. Born of an unknown father, his mother died when he was really young, the priests of Ilmater of Damara took him in and discovered a birthmark resembling Ilmater's symbol. Taking it as a sign they immediatly take him to their ranks, but admist this, the Witchking begins his attack on the kingdom. As soon as he's old enough he's sent to battle the undead army. Long story short, I'll post it fully once I have the time. Now's my twist, he's trained by clerics, paladins (order of the golden cup) and monks (of the white rose ????), plus Ilmater's favored weapon is the unarmed fist. So I imagined a Paladin w/out armor, but with wisdom armor, who fights with both his fists and weapons (hammer in my case), but other than that... Not to mention I hate going out of bonds in the rules, I'd like some feedback of soemthing balanced if anyone could help |

It also says that paladins of Ilmater may multiclass freely as clerics, divine champions, divine disciples and heiropliants. Torms paladins may freely multiclass so are you set on Ilmater? |

Ascetic Knight has three benefits: It allows you to multiclass your Monk/Paladin levels freely without having to stop your progression. Normally, taking levels in Monk, then taking another class, prohibits you from taking more levels in Monk, though you retain all abilities you've gained. Same for Paladin. It allows you to add your Monk levels to your Paladin ones for purposes of calculating how much damage your Smite Evil does. A Monk 3/Paladin 5 would add 8 points of damage on a successful smite, same as a lvl 8 Paladin. It allows you to add your Paladin levels to your Monk ones for purposes of calculating how much damage your unarmed strikes do. The above mentioned character would do 1d10 + Str mod on unarmed strikes, same as a lvl 8 Monk. Speaking as someone currently running a Bard/Paladin, I'd say the feat would be a good choice. (Of course, that's a different feat with the added bonus of ignoring the bard's alignment restriction, but I suspect it'd be to similar effect.) |

I mean, without armor, a monk needs a high dexterity, which is usually a dump stat for a paladin. And a paladin needs a great charisma, which is usually a dump stat for a monk. But if you have great rolls, I guess it would work. Instead of an hammer, I suggest you use a quatterstaff, since you can make a flurry of blows with it. |
