giesy1 11-07-04, 09:10 AM	Just looking for some ideas for my character for upcoming game. The character is currently a Elan Male (CG or CN) Psychic Warrior 5 / Illithid Slayer 5 Elan's had an entire life before they had become Elan's through a secret Psionic ritual. Vracus was once a dedicated and honorable Paladin of Tyr, he fought for the weak, he fought for justice and served his god honorably. However, the church of Tyr was becoming corrupt, without Vracus's knowledge. His church sponsered missions became less and less of to the liking of Vracus. Eventually he felt his connection with Tyr waning...He confronted the church...and was banished, stripped of his title and position. With reputable people he was the fallen paladin, with those who were less than reputable he was the man who was once the paladin, he could find allies nowhere. On his 30th birthday, alone in a tavern he was confronted by 3 men passing themselves off as clerics of Tyr, lead from the tavern he was stabbed, beaten and left for dead. He did not die, he was already a candidate for becoming an Elan. Selected by the Elan council for his battle prowess and a latent psionic ability. They knew he had no ties to his old life and thought him to be a perfect candidate to undergo the process and owe himself to the Elan's as a protector. Life as an Elan was very different, with new thoughts and old memories mixing to create his new self. He took to the Elan's and thier need of him as a warrior quick. Trained to fight the most hated of the Elan's enemies, the Illithid, he was dispatched to help (Dwarves? Some people that has Mindflayer problems?) After the successful campaign against those mindflayers, he returned to the council the victorious champion once more only to find the council destroyed from some unnamed enemy. Rumors in town spoke of tentacled monstrosties in the night raiding the city from the sewers. Once again, without allies but with a will to right this wrong he took off, following every lead he could to strike at the Illithid once more. This is to lead into the "City of the Spider Queen) adventure Any changes? Ideas? Does anyone know anything more about Elans?
Aluroon 11-08-04, 08:12 PM	Hope you dont get slaughtered in City of the Spider Queen...honestly the modual is well set for several tpks. I think the concept is great. It makes sense, your linked your classes together nicely. I can stand nothing more then a character who makes no sense with the classes he has. I hope you have fun with him, unforanitly my dm has banned psionics...ruined my idea for an ex-archmage elan trying to recover his old powers while at the same time trying to develop his new ones (cerebremancer). You wont find your illithid abillitys of to much use though in CotSQ... Aluroon
