| Krondar, Palemaster of Cuthbert07-22-03, 03:05 PM | Seriously has anyone ever tried to make a character that has a resemblance to that favourite movie monster Godzilla, along with the trademark fire breath? What about a Destoroyah wannabe? Gigan? Megalon? No, I'm not talking about adding the Kaiju template to an existing creature. I mean creating a humanoid who eventually catches the spirit, NOT the power of these daikaiju. |

| TheMightyMcClaw07-24-03, 03:39 PM | It wouldn't really work out for a character, what with the gigantic size and uncontrollable urge to eat Tokyo (which, by the way, is delicious). Also, image-wise, race would be tenuous.... and gosh dammit, if it doesn't have a beak, mandables, the ability to fly, giant hooks for hands, and a buzz saw sticking out of it's torso, then it's not the Gigan. :P However, I believe there have been several attempts to make monster stats for Gojira and other kaiju. |
| Ropp'cht'cht07-24-03, 06:31 PM | At the very least, it's occasionally worthwhile to have a character do the dance of joy after defeating a particularly challenging foe. (You know the one...Godzilla hops on one leg with one hand over his head and the other near his belly, intermittently switching legs and hand positions, accompanied by triumphant roars.) Of course, you need to act this out yourself if you want to give the other players & DM the full effect of your mighty display. ;) |

Half-orc red dragon disciple who gets his wings clipped, with the coloration of his scales being primarily green with red streaks, and a device implanted into his body that allows him to breath out a modified version of lightning bolt (that does fire damage). What do you guys think? |

What do you guys think? No, no! Godzilla breathes a radioactive cloud of gas, not lightning/fire! Make it a cone of corrosive gas, just like a green dragon. |
| Krondar, Palemaster of Cuthbert07-24-03, 09:24 PM | Hmmm... :uh-huh: never knew it was radioactive gas, every source that I know of describes it as radioactive fire, note this is classic Godzilla I'm talking about not Godzilla U.S.A. or GINO as some call it. I guess I could have the Half-orc become a green dragon disciple and breath out a modified Burning Hands (so that it does acid damage, and is a forty foot cone). |

| DrakeRunner07-28-03, 11:30 AM | Wow man, most people would have let this topic die. I can just imagine it, siccing this on my players. I'd set the miniatures on the floor, and stomp up to them, ala Godzilla. And I'll make the NPC scream in a horrific Asian accent "It's Godzilla!"Ooh ooh! Can't forgot Go Go Godzilla on the stereo! Cept we'll have to find someplace other than Tokyo for him to eat... Elven capital! :D Oh man, that would be so much fun... In all honesty, I would just modifiy a Dinosaur, maybe bump up the size a bit, and it IS Radioactive Fire. Other than that, forget it. Unless you wanna cheese off the party for still being too weak when they can bend reality at their will, bringing in Kaiju are just mean. |
| Krondar, Palemaster of Cuthbert07-28-03, 10:35 PM | I did not intend to actually MAKE Godzilla. For that it would take epic templates on a tyranosaurus rex and an organic based artifact or two. What I meant was through the use of item creation and possible multiclassing to get a character that, in spirit, had captured the feel of the kaiju. |
