Hello everybody! I was wondering if anyone can help me with the background of a Character I play.
It is a Gahele Eladrin, named Alarien. (12th level)
His deity is Tymora
We play in Forgotten Realms but we use planar handbook too.
In the story we're playing, we're on Mechanus now.

Dungeon Master said that I'm on Mechanus because Regents of Arborea (gahele's house) ordered that I've to discover why an Astral Deva (that was another PC, carried by another player) disappeared suddenly (in game, he just died and his corps suddenly disappeared) and where is finished another gahele.
In game, he was corrupted from the Avatar of Cyric -the party had combat into his temple, so master rolled % die and his avatar appeared- and now the player who had that gahele don't play more, so is PC has just disappeared too, and nobody in Arborea know that is was corrupted.
I joined the party because I've discovered that Deva was with them until few days before.
I need an help in background: I've to justify why I believe in Tymora (human deity) and not in Corellon.
My idea is that I was prisoner on Faerun lands and someone believing Tymora has helped me, but it sounds forced.
Do you have any suggestion? Any help?
Thank you so much!
PS If you've doubt, just ask! ^^

Well, if you know there's a goddess of luck, why not propitiate her?

I know a series of evil deities have "spawned" tiefling bloodlines (Mask, Beshaba, etc) so it's possible that good deities patronize particular good outsider societies. As an alternative, don't forget that FR gods reside in various planes. It may be that the ghaele has lived on the same place as Tymora and was impressed by either the deity herself or one or more of her champions.

On the other hand, Tymora's doctrine can be summarized as "fortune favors the bold." If your character is adventurous and somewhat reckless, she could simply agree so well with this dogma that she'd find following the deity that preaches it natural.

Thank you for your support and help!
Infact I see that Tymora stay in Brightwater, with a connection to Green Fields. Anyway, Brightwater is also connected with Arvandor, "house" of Corellon, and "birthplace" of ghaele's.
So a connection is not so forced as I imagined before!
Any further suggestion?
